Edit: An absolute joke of management. Post check out, we were additionally charged for our FULL STAY even though we had already settled the payment on check out. The manager is not responsive and not interested in refunding the wrong charges or getting their things right. An absolutely disappointing if not fraudulent experience.We are regular stayers at the Moxy chain (both of us being of Gold Elite status but this was the most disappointing by far. I should have read the reviews prior to confirming as the instances of charging wrongly / charging double are definitely not isolated.We checked in for our 3 night stay on 20September where I was promptly and rightly charged a pet fee of 90 euros (30/night). As we also drove, we paid a further charge of 90 euros for parking and in and out access on 21 September - this was processed by an Asian looking bespectacled male. What we certainly did not expect was to be told, on checkout on 23 September, that we had not paid our parking charges and unless we consented to making an additional payment of 90 euros on the spot, we would not get our parking ticket validated and we could not exit the building (ie pay again).When we tried to explain that this was already in fact paid for earlier on 21 September (meaning it was not simply a holding charge as the deduction is already reflected in my statement), and should be captured by their cctv in any case, the staff Narmin was zero interested in listening and was close to screaming at us saying that we must not have paid as the system does not reflect it. Not once was Narmin interested in looking at my screenshots or proof of payment even though we had pleaded with her to calm down and apply her mind to the situation. When we had asked her to check internally, or speak to the manager, she dismissively told us that the manager Fernando would only be coming to work at 3pm and that we could come back then if we would like (yeah, it’s 2024 and as if telephones don’t exist….). It’s almost ironic that we who are inconvenienced in this situation are the ones having to chase down the manager, and the staff seems so indifferent or almost downright uncaring. At the end, we had to leave, and she wrote us the manager’s email and said we could get in touch if we so wished.It’s a lovely vibrant place that’s run by young-ish folks, who with the exception of Narmin has been nothing but positive and welcoming, but having been to many Moxys and other Marriott chains, I certainly did not expect an upmarket hotel to be run this way in a way which shows they are disinterested in customer loyalty or retention. It’s a real shame because instances like these undo all the effort in customer retention or marketing, which I had thought their new GM, Maarten, would be interested in working on given the competitiveness of the Amsterdam hotel landscape.I get that Narmin may just be “doing her job”, but as they say, there are many ways to skin a cat. Perhaps what I am upset about is not so much the fact that they did not seem to have their admin together (ie paid but not reflected in system), but the frustration in having basically a young adult shout at you and making you feel bad when you genuinely want to avoid a double payment. Someone who does not enjoy customer service should not be in customer service. It does not serve both the employer nor the customer.

Stylish, welcoming and full of incredible artwork and sculptures. We have stayed at several Moxy hotels across Europe and this one is the cream of the crop. Full snack bar and every type of drink option 24/7 for any munchies the city causes. Highly recommended!

The hotel was fine. Had to change rooms because of bad smell. The view was nice because I booked a lookout room. I was disappointed in the bar staff. I arrived at the same time as another couple, their order was taken after two minutes. The staff were arguing over not having enough experience and after 5 minutes of staring at them to get their attention one staff memeber turned to me and said last orders had finished as nobody was available to take my order, despite being there while I watched them take the other couples order. Not well run. I was very disappointed as the unprofessional attitude of the staff.
