We stayed at the country house last year for a short stay including a bullie ride and were very satisfied. This year we went on an extended vacation in the heath and stayed in the same room. You have to like the location and the ambience. There's not really much going on in the area, but you can go on numerous hikes from the hotel, so even your car can have a holiday. The hotel and the country house opposite are not modern, but fully meet our requirements. There is one star deduction for the outdated mattresses, otherwise we had absolutely nothing to complain about in the room. We also had nothing to criticize about the food or service. On the contrary: as part of the half board there was a very varied 3-course menu every evening; and to our delight there was a different fish dish every evening. The service staff was very accommodating and overall very down to earth. The same applies to the head of the house. For our part, we can recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to switch off and doesn't need any frills.

We were looking forward to a delicious dinner at the end of a beautiful hike through the heath. We received great service in a dignified atmosphere!! Unfortunately the food was disappointing. The flagship dish “fried potato”: the opposite of crispy, bland and barely seasoned. Schnitzel: Oh dear, it probably came out of the deep fryer a little too early, it wasn't crispy and I suspect it was a ready-made schnitzel from somewhere else. Plus fries (good) and champions in dried cream sauce. Then we had a salad (it was okay) and the vegetarian cabbage rolls (good idea for vegetarians!) were unfortunately also pretty bland and bland.

I took part in a gourmet raw food course by Urs and Rita Hochstrasser. That was excellent. All I can say about the country house is that it is idyllic and beautiful.

We were there as a group at the end of March to end the day after a hike together.Unfortunately there isn't much of the country house flair left, it's more chic from the 90s.Unfortunately, the food selection does not match the online menu, so our previous considerations had to be thrown out the window.The service also seemed a bit overwhelmed and not very understanding.The food was ok, but didn't blow us away. Good, average German cuisine.Next time I'm in Undeloh I would probably choose a different restaurant.
