Idyllically located. Clean rooms. No fridge, which is bad in summer. Shared kitchen locked despite group. Very noisy. No WLAN. Far too expensive for that.

It's been a long time since I've had money taken out of my pocket in such an unqualified way.The positive thing is that the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean... there's nothing to complain about. But the bathroom was tiny and about 3 square meters in size, the room contains a little more than the double bed and a closet... the wooden windows open and close with force, the actually beautiful terrace is overgrown with greenery. The whole building has wooden floors and you can hear clearly when someone is walking through the room upstairs or using the stairs...There are no light-proof curtains either; the good Schmilka visitor gets up when it gets light. It's probably better for some chakras... or something...According to reception, there should have been a basket with bathrobes etc. in the accommodation for use in the sauna... but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I can't say whether the reception made a mistake or the accommodation made a mistake.WiFi is probably too modern (or the devil's work) and is not available...Breakfast takes place 400 meters away, which is not so great to walk there in the morning when it rains. The breakfast itself was good and high quality. All you can do is shoot your brains out in the brewery's beer garden and hope that it's over soon.

Nice, small rooms, but the price-performance ratio is not right. At a price of over 300 for a weekend, you can expect better service and also that you won't be deducted extra euros for parking.Late in the evening the balcony door slammed shut and we were locked out (who expects a balcony door to slam and close?). None of the phone numbers at the entrance were in use and so we couldn't reach anyone in an emergency because the reception was already closed. The problem has probably happened several times before.About the room: small, woody, but the bathroom light can be improved (bright white light). The breakfast buffet was very positive, although you have to walk to a hotel about 250m away. There was really everything your heart could desire and also some vegan/vegetarian options.

A very cute hotel. The rooms were a bit over-furnished (two chairs out, then it's fine) but still very pleasant. I slept very well there and would love to come back.

Very rustic and cozy accommodation at the end of the 5th stage of the Malerweg, great location directly on the Ilmenbach not far from the historic mill in Schmilka.

We had a nice modern and clean room. Breakfast was in the partner hotel about 200m walk away and worth every step there.

We had a good stay here. The room we had on the 2nd floor was spacious with a modern bathroom, welcoming living room and a comfy bed. The access to the sauna up the road is also a nice bonus. …

Arrival and greeting by the staff at the main reception in Grenzeck were very friendly and detailed. Room #2 for a single person who spends most of the time traveling, hiking or visiting the places is absolutely fine. Decent bed, nice bathroom, small TV, unfortunately no WiFi. I don't understand the "low radiation" philosophy, because there is good 4G everywhere in town, there is a lot of car traffic, the ferry 200 m away runs on marine diesel and 30 m above or below the Rauschenstein house the WiFi is excellent, in my opinion the wrong strategy No WiFi available in the house. It's not completely quiet in the house either, as it's a bit noisy, at least on the ground floor. Depending on the season, the accommodation prices can also seem high, but I still think they are appropriate given the current high inflation, especially for good food with half board and personnel costs.

A simple but clean accommodation in a quiet location. Breakfast at Hotel Helvetia was perfect!!! The town of Schmilka is completely overrun with hikers and the prices in the restaurants are outrageously high.

Wonderful vacation! We were there in September last year and were positively surprised by the accommodation. Yes, it is "just" a hiking hostel but the rooms were very comfortable & very clean. There was a common room in the accommodation with a fireplace (it always smelled like it in the evenings - we liked it).The cleaning staff and reception were extremely friendly! We were always helped if we had any questions. The whole complex is simply harmonious, there are lots of opportunities for activities/hikes. A perfect starting point for a vacation. It was also great that you could rent bikes at reception and they would be delivered to you.The food in the Strandgut restaurant is also highly recommended (we had half board) - there is even a lot of choice for vegans and requests were catered for.)We spontaneously extended it by one night and will definitely come back!
