We stayed here for a wedding on a recommendation and will not be back as most of our experiences were sub-par...Asked for some coffee during the last 30 minutes of breakfast and got a bottle with a heavy set of snide comments that we can call ourselves lucky that there still was some.Rooms have seen better days (with the exception of a modernized bath) but mattresses have seen the days of black and white TV and just to many guests.Weren't feeling to well on departure day, and asked if we could get a late checkout, resulting in 30 minutes more sleep. When we left the room, no housekeeping was nearby and it would have been easy to give us some more time to put our stomachs back in order.I think the only positive memory I will take away was the beer we had on the evening of our arrival, where staff and guests seemed friendly.Won't be back.

Four of us were there for lunch last Saturday. The pumpkin cream soup was simply a poem!! Full-bodied and deliciously flavored. For my main course I had the farmer's steak with fries and princess beans. Also very tasty. Unfortunately there wasn't enough for dessert because we were so full.

Were in transit/campsite.Around 4:30 p.m. we were hungry and stopped at the post office. Super nice waitress who took care of us immediately. A total of 4 tables occupied. There were two of us. A short time later the soups we ordered arrived. Hot and very tasty. Then the main course for everyone. Super tasty and large portions. The next morning at 6.30 a.m. we were back for breakfast. 11 € per nose from the buffet. Everything you can imagine is there. Great quality. The next time we're in the area, we'll definitely come back.We didn't have a room, so no review

We "only" ate in the restaurant and not in the hotel, so no rating of the rooms was possible. But what if they are like food? Fantastic and really great hearty atmosphere with very nice staff! Thanks for the great food and the nice evening! The Hornbergers from Rheinhessen!

What a great place! Very quaint and comfortable hotel in this storybook little German town. The rooms are well appointed, clean, and comfortable. This building is almost 200 years old and originally served as the Tack/Livery for the local Germany Post Office. The hotel also owns special “cottages” across the street with rooms available. These buildings have been dubbed “Hansel & Grettle” and were built in 1668! 😲 (note to special effort to display the original beams and stone).Beautiful little town of Velburg lies just east of Nurnberg.
