**The Holsterhof and the Battle against the Burgundians**About 600 years ago, Limburg fell under the empire of the Duke of Burgundy. This branch of the French royal family brought with it a special way of life. Limburg is still known for this Burgundian lifestyle. All of Limburg? No, a small camping farm continued to stubbornly resist this culture and did not make life easy for the Burgundians...Our group of 25 friends, all Burgundians through and through, decided to spend a weekend in Limburg.Unaware of the adventure that awaited us.When we arrived, we immediately felt the tense atmosphere. The owner, a gruff-looking man with a fixed gaze, greeted us with a set of strict rules. Music, laughter and even a simple chat after 10:30 pm were strictly forbidden. The threat of caning hung over our heads like the sword of Damocles. The Holsterhof turned out to be no ordinary accommodation, but a fortress of a tribe that was strongly opposed to the Burgundian lifestyle.Despite the restrictions, we decided to keep the Burgundian spirit alive. We focused on making the best of the situation. The beautiful surroundings, full of works of art and an animal meadow full of exotic animal species, gave us the inspiration to continue.**The Dishwasher Disaster**One of the biggest challenges was the dishwasher, which made our dishes dirtier than they originally were. Instead of complaining, we made it a shared activity to wash and dry everything by hand. We sang songs and laughed together, which gave even this job a Burgundian touch.**The Water Battle**The bathrooms were a disaster. The walls between the shower and the toilet were not waterproof, which resulted in an unwanted foot bath while using the toilet. The water flowed out of the bathroom, down the hallway, towards the kitchen and finally outside. Instead of grumbling, we made it a game to drain the water as quickly as possible.**The Climbing Adventure**The beds were a perfect size for people no taller than 5 feet tall. For anyone taller, the bunk beds were a source of thrill and excitement. The climb up became an adventure in itself, with the risk that the rusted steps would break. Still, we took up the challenge and helped each other up.**The Final Battle**On Saturday evening we decided to continue our party evening, despite the strict rules. We started playing casino games in the house. The atmosphere was cheerful and laughter rang through the rooms. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for the owner to complain, his face contorted into a grimace of disapproval. To avoid further confrontation, we moved our party to a secluded part of the property and continued playing poker under the stars. The night was clear, and the stars provided a beautiful backdrop for our Burgundian adventure. We laughed, played and enjoyed each other's company as cards were dealt and chips were bet. It was an epic evening, full of stories and moments we will never forget.**Stronger Through Struggle**The next morning, when we were busy with the final cleaning, the owner showed up again. Even grimmer than before. He tried to force us out of the house well before departure time, hoping that the terrible conditions had broken us.But instead he found a group of united Burgundians, stronger than ever. The owner, who thought he could break us, had to realize that the Burgundian spirit was invincible. We left the site with our heads held high, our friendship stronger than ever and full of new stories to tell. The Holsterhof may be located in beautiful surroundings, but it was our indomitable spirit that made the stay unforgettable.

The worst accommodation ever!!We have been going on a friends weekend with our group of friends for several years now. We've never had any problems before, but this beat everything.Upon arrival in the afternoon we had some background music playing. The owners then came to us, saying if things continued like this it would end quickly. There is a bar in the accommodation that we of course also used in the evening. Early in the evening the owner came to us quite threateningly to tell us that the bass had to be turned off, we listened to the owner and turned off the bass of the music.Later that evening the owners came in shouting and threatening that we had to leave after breakfast, even though we had booked another night. In the morning one of our friends had posted a review about this absurd incident, after which the owner came to us and said in a threatening tone: "I'll tie you to the beam right now & I like boys like you raw."Conclusion: don't be tempted by the fact that there is a bar and youth are allowed. If you come for fun, DO NOT go here!----------------About 2 weeks ago we had an unpleasant experience with the owner of the group accommodation, and posted a review about it. Today we received an email that our reviews must be deleted, otherwise the host will contact 'our municipality' and 'google maps' to pass on our names. It is unclear to us what the host wants to achieve by passing on our names to the municipality. He also stated in the email that he will hire a lawyer to remove 7 bad reviews. (While posting reviews is not libel or slander). The review has been posted to prevent other younger groups of friends from making the same mistake. Annoying for the owner, but this is our critical assessment, because this weekend was not pleasant for us!I also receive a Facebook message in the evening from someone who had also posted a review asking if I was the person who wrote the negative review at camping farm Holsterhof. When asking why?? She would never have sent me this Facebook message and she would never have been to Holsterhof. So very strange. In short: a lot of fuss for a bad review!

The rooms mainly have bunk beds. Unfortunately, the stairs to the upper beds are almost falling apart. On hot days the rooms cannot be cooled and you literally stick to the beds. The kitchen is extremely narrow for the number of people that can stay there. There is a dishwasher, but most of it still comes out dirty.Items such as a washing-up brush, washing-up liquid, towel, tea towel, etc. are not provided. In the bathrooms, the showers couldn't be more old-fashioned than this. It's like a garden blow that you're under. In addition, the wall between the toilet and shower is not completely closed, so you get a foot bath near the toilet. Due to the raised edges, this water can only be removed through the kitchen door.On the last morning, the owner was already tapping our clock well before delivery. Not friendly at all.

During a family weekend we stayed in the group accommodation 'het hol'. The accommodation was well maintained and clean. There was plenty of room for the young children to play. In addition to the recreation room, there was also a cozy bar in the accommodation. We had a very successful weekend here with the family.
