There are two points for the location.We can't really rate anything else except the poor customer service. If there is a sign on the main street indicating that the location is open and also noting the days it is closed, then customers will be attracted the approximately 3.5 km to the restaurant.Unfortunately we were then faced with a sign that said “Closed due to illness”. Well, it can happen, but please note it on the advertising signs. So we weren't so bad with a car, and on the way back we picked up a very angry couple of hikers who had taken the route from Allrode and were strictly served because the location was closed.Oh yes: As an experienced restaurateur, the menu and the prices shown did not appeal to me in any way. For a bockwurst with potato salad and a side salad, €12.00 is quite brave.It's a shame about the otherwise very well-kept grounds in a great location.

Was there twenty minutes before 11:00. Very unfriendly because it was too “early”. Apparently they didn’t need it. Not good business conduct🤨

We only drove there from Quedlinburg to eat.The location and how the hotel and restaurant are designed are very nice. But the menu and the preparation of the dishes are just a bit too little for the route.Schnitzel, fries, currywurst, chicken nuggets...that's almost it.I can very well imagine having 2-3 more sophisticated dishes available out there at all times is difficult, but I wouldn't necessarily go there again in the near future to choose the menu; we've had much better experiences there.Nevertheless, good luck, just some “better” food please!🙏

Very far away and only discovered by chance but definitely very beautiful. Please pay attention to the signs on the way to the hunting lodge.Because it was closed that day.I think you can hear silence there!

If you don't mind traveling along a forest path, you will reach a place full of peace and seclusion. The perfect hotel for those looking for relaxation.Everything around it is made perfect by a super friendly staff.Any time....

We only stayed in the hotel for one night in the classic room.We booked the package with a 3-course candlelight dinner.The food was very tasty and the service was very friendly.The entire hotel is clean and tidy.Only 2 shortcomings need to be mentioned.The bed is a disaster. With every movement there is a crack in every corner. We hardly got a wink of sleep.Furthermore, you have to be prepared for the fact that you have to drive about 3 km along a very bad dirt road to get to the hotel.The hotel is located in the middle of the forest.All in all we give it 4 stars.

The Windenhütte near Treseburg is unique in the Harz in terms of ambience, cuisine and service. We celebrated a big birthday with family and stayed here for two nights. We had the space completely to ourselves in the morning and evening. During the preparation we were very well advised with good suggestions (e.g. barbecue in the evening with local fish, meat and vegetables) and lots of good ideas about the birthday. We just liked everything here: the great rooms, the excellent and friendly service (even until midnight) and the tasty and varied food. We would love to come back here.

Beautiful small hotel located in the middle of the forest, perfect for relaxing and hiking. The breakfast is plentiful and tastes delicious. Lunch or dinner is simply recommended. It's a dream.....The staff is helpful and friendly and a big thank you here too. Just stop by for yourself and enjoy.

You have to like it, understand it and accept it!Anyone traveling here should know where they are going!Many of those who have something to complain about here also write many other reviews with a negative bias, you should keep that in mind!Unfriendly staff??? Nope, that doesn't work at all, it's just because of the forest slang!Dad staff is really good!

The ambience and location is really great. I just can't recommend the lunch menu at all. On the other hand, I can very well imagine going there again at coffee and cake time.If you read the other reviews from guests who ate there at Christmas, our experience with the restaurant is confirmed.

The journey was really adventurous!Not to say an imposition... but that's not the point.We had Christmas dinner on December 24th, 2023.The food was really excellent!!!!The menu card was handwritten and personalized...... really great!The service was quick and professional!However, I found €55 for the menu a bit too expensive.All in all it was a successful evening!!!!

We were also there for Christmas dinner. We hadn't found anything in the area beforehand and so we came across this place. Our reservation was accepted spontaneously. Yes, the journey was very adventurous and if there were no signs along the way, we would have turned back. But that wasn't the case.When we arrived we were greeted warmly and shown to the table. There was a handwritten, personalized menu on the table including a wine recommendation. The menu was delicious. The meat was tasty and the meat on the goose leg fell off the bone. Dessert was equally delicious. The guys who served us were attentive, relaxed but still professional. I have nothing to complain about.I can't rate the room because we didn't spend the night there.
