The best place to stay overnight that I have had in Plön so far.

This accommodation has a very family character. You get into conversation very friendly, informally and quickly with both the innkeepers and other guests. It's almost like being at home. You don't actually miss anything.

A week in Villa Thomsen with a view of the lake, paddling and cycling. Every morning a cool swim in the lake followed by a delicious breakfast. Pure hospitality, it was wonderful.

We would also give 10 stars if there were!We used Villa Thomsen as a hostel for ourselves and our witnesses for our wedding in August 2024 and it was a real oasis of well-being! 😍The chemistry was right from the first second, even when we met in January!Stefan and his family welcomed us more than warmly into the historic villa with great charm and character. With their admirable hospitality and interest in their guests, they met our every wish and at the same time gave us the freedom to feel at home and enjoy the time for ourselves!!It was an absolute stroke of luck and we are very grateful to have been able to spend our wedding anniversary here 🥰We are looking forward to seeing you again hopefully soon!It's great that you're involved in the region!

A magical stay in an enchanting guesthouse right on the lake in Plön leaves nothing to be desired. The helpful and courteous landlord ensures that every guest feels completely comfortable and can fully enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. He shares his little paradise with a lot of passion and creates unforgettable experiences for his visitors.

Let's keep it short:Villa Thomsen is a gem.After searching for a hotel in vain, we came across Villa Thomsen by “chance” in August 21.But this coincidence turned out to be something like “help” or “guidance and chance of fate”.Why take a Stino hotel room when, for the same money, you can have such exclusive accommodation with loving care down to the last detail right on the small Plön Lake with its own meadow and jetty?The jetty itself is equipped with a parasol, corner bench and table, so that you can enjoy breakfast surrounded by water and large trees and enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding area and send your soul on holiday.The landlord Stefan Thomsen has prepared this historic villa for guests with a lot of subtle love.As soon as you enter the large hallway of the house, you notice subtle piano music playing in the background.Tasteful pictures such as Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks" adorn the rooms.Attention to detail was evident in every corner.The entire ground floor is reserved for guests. The landlords live on the upper floor.We rented two of the three rooms for a week for ourselves as a married couple and our 18 year old son.We had the garden room for two people with a huge terrace (deck chairs, parasols) and a view over the meadow and lake. Everything can be used by the tenant, deck chairs, parasols on the lawn - everything is available.Our son had the tower room. WiFi available everywhere.In the morning you can have breakfast if you wish: rolls, toast, eggs, sausage, cheese, coffee, tea, fruit, muesli etc etc - no hotel can do it better.We were offered two breakfast rooms to choose from: the rather stately salon and the fully equipped kitchen.The landlord told us about the eventful history of this villa - you can also find it on his website.If you want to get to know Plön in more detail, you don't have to look long for a suitable city guide. He already lives in the house.So we went on a two-hour sightseeing tour with Stefan Thomsen (he could have taken longer!) past Edel-Schäfer's coffee roastery (where Stefan Thomsen can arrange a short tour) on foot via the Bieberhöhe memorial and observation site (www.bieberhöhe .de), via the vocational training center back down to the main street.Back up to Plön Castle, with a wonderful view over Plön and the surrounding lake landscape, down into the old town of Plön. The tour can be extended practically as desired,Stefan Thomsen also offers guided bike tours around the lakes. So: culture + living, or if you wish, “just living”......Again: a gem in a magical setting... great... we'll be back...

We spent a great weekend at Villa Thomsen. Beautiful rooms in a house with direct lake access. We were also always able to use the well-equipped kitchen. The host was very accommodating, friendly and uncomplicated. We felt very welcome, thank you!

A magical place with perfect hosts right on Lake Plön. Ideal starting point for cycling and boat tours. Plön city center is within walking distance. I used my stay for a great kayak tour. The boat rental is only a few hundred meters away from Villa Thomsen.Highly recommended for a holiday in Holstein Switzerland!

Very nice guesthouse located directly on Lake Plön, we were very welcome as cyclists even for just one night. Everything was perfect, very friendly and helpful owner Mr. Thomsen, who told us a lot of interesting facts about Plön. Quality of the breakfast can't be beat - thank you for the short stay!
