Present meets pastWe now know two of the houses and it is difficult to compare the Alten Posthof with other hotels/holiday homes. The houses have their own and very personal atmosphere. Although the rooms are lavishly and lovingly furnished, great importance was placed on preserving the more than 500-year history. By modern standards there is nothing missing in the houses and yet a subliminal presence of the residents from more than 500 years is noticeable and you can feel the life of many generations. The houses are built around an inner courtyard that invites you to chill out with a glass of wine. If the weather is "uncomfortable", this can also be done in the houses. There is a baker in the immediate vicinity; a butcher and a really friendly "Italian". The bakery is closed on Sundays, but there is a delivery service and therefore fresh bread rolls, even on Sundays. The surrounding vineyards can be “hiked” and if you feel like it, you can also take a hike to Bernkastel. A visit to the old town is definitely worth it. But there is also a lot to discover nearby within walking distance. The cities of Trier - Roman bridges and old cranes - are about 40 km away and can be easily reached by car. However, you should look for a suitable parking space beforehand. From Trier to Luxembourg and Luxembourg City it is only a stone's throw. Finally, I would like to make a comment: I have already gotten to know many hotels/holiday homes/holiday resorts. But I have rarely encountered such meticulous cleanliness as in the Altes Posthof. For us we have a saying: Quality is when the customer comes back and not the goods. We will definitely come back again.

Old farmhouse that contains the current standards such as heating, shower, toilet. But still retained its old character. Old wooden stairs that creak and in the lower area there are old walls with cold, clammy air. There is also WiFi, TV and a modern kitchen. I thought it was really good and would go again in a heartbeat.

Have the FW #7. 3 floors with kitchen, TV on each floor, stable WiFi (6MBit), 2 beds plus a double bed on the top double bed on the 2nd floor, 3 bathrooms and 2 showers. There is a lounge downstairs. Space enough. Quiet and not directly on the street. The staff is friendly and handing over the keys was easy. You can unpack right in front of the front door and park about 75m away. No problem. Are very happy with the choice.
