I hadn't been to the half moon restaurant in a while as I used to be very badly treated by restaurant staff. I decided to bring family members for a Sunday roast as the restaurant is gorgeous and the food is decent. I will not make that mistake again, rude staff, entered the pub and no one spoke to us, no greetings nothing. No smile from any waiter whatsoever and the roast was not as good as I remember. So all in all, many other options in Herne Hill that are better than this one. It's such a pity because eating in the garden in the summer is lovely and totally worth it.

We went for a Sunday lunch as we live in the vicinity. Service was fast and friendly and our grandchildren were very happy with all they had ordered. Our roasts were excellent too. …

Went in for a wedding evening on the 31st October which Matt, Alex and Molly made a great night.the main issue was the miscommunication about the actual space which was supposed to be given to us. There was apparently an issue in commmunication with whoever was there to arrange everything beforehand but at the end of the day Matt made sure everything went as well as could be. Thank you to him and the other staff members who dealt with us throughout the night to make the best of whatever was arranged before.

We recently visited London for the first time and stayed at the Half Moon for 3 nights and we absolutely loved it. We try to stay 20-30 min from city center when traveling like this so we experience daily culture as well; if you like to do the same the Half moon is a great option. The train station was 5 min walking and the property it's self was beautiful, clean, and a great atmosphere. The staff made us feel so welcome and you could tell this hotel is a big part of the Herne Hill community. This was truly a great find.

The pub is beautiful and has been lovingly restored. Your drink prices are hugely inflated . I work in East Dulwich and if any of those also lovely pubs dared to charge £7.45 a pint they would get short shift and would probably close. The fact you can get away with those prices speaks volumes about the clientele you have. But it's not for me. It's not Central London. Behave yourselves and get the prices down below £7. Honestly, it's disgusting.
