I was in Shrewsbury to take an exam and the hotel provided me with everything I needed. Silent room, nice view, a nice desk to study on and a very comfortable bed. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. …

Well situated. Nice staff, especially for breakfast! The room was too hot, and no tumblers were provided for water. We could hear stairway footsteps throughout the night. The bathroom was very nice.

An absolutely awful stay. Avoid. Summary below:- An extremely loud banging and drilling sound started at 22:45 from the multi-storey car park next door. from signs (A4 pieces of paper stuck up) I had been made aware that the car park was closed for visitors for a short time but these ‘signs’ said nothing about any nighttime works or noise. The noise woke me up, and when I went to reception to complain there were already three other guests there. The lady was polite and apologetic and she said to a couple of us, ‘were you not told about it at check in?’ Well no I certainly wasn’t. I was told that I couldn’t be moved to a different room as she said they were fully booked. I legitimately only saw one other person on my floor throughout my stay and so find it very hard to believe they were fully booked. I asked what else could be done and was given the number for customer relations. The lady on reception told me to say that ‘the night staff will be able to back up what you’re saying’. However the phone line was closed.- I asked about a restaurant reservation when I checked in at 4:30pm and was told the restaurant was fully booked. Can’t say it looked anywhere near full at around dinner time.- Room temperature really tricky to control, was up and down.- The toilet ran constantly like a running tap, also making it very hard to sleep.- The WiFi was pitiful - I imagine this is because they want to make you so frustrated that you fork out the £5 for the ‘ultimate WiFi’. What a joke.I often travel for work and have always been happy with Premier Inns in other towns and cities, unfortunately this is my first really bad experience. I would tell others to avoid this hotel!

Very handy location for the bus and railway station. Close to centre of town. Riverfront view. ( Hopefully high enough above the regular river Severn floods.) Typical chain. We did not eat or use the bar. Massive construction site next door but we had no issues. Bit of a slow check-in process as auto system was down. Room fine. Wifi, tea/coffee. Good bed. Shower in the bath so getting in and out starting to worry me as I approach my 8th decade.

Typical Premier Inn. You know what you’re going to get and it delivers. Breakfast is varied and tasty. Beds comfortable and surprisingly quiet area at night. Convenient area for what Shrewsbury has to offer. …

Staying at the Premier Inn was very similar to flying with wizz air, or any other budget airplane company around the holidays - expensive and unpleasant. We definitely did not feel like guests at the hotel, we were treated like paying customers at best:sure we have parking, if you pay for it;of course you can have breakfast, if you pay for it;we can certainly change your towels or today up your room, if you ask us and if you are staying for more than two nights;you can't open windows, but don't worry, room is ventilated, but it wasn't really, every time we turned on the airflow, it stopped after 20-30 minutes tops.Overall, a very budget experience for a very full price. Staff was not great, but not super bad either. They were mostly inefficient and yet inhospitable.Location was top notch, cleanliness left to be desired, especially in the bathroom and the way the whole room smelled.

My wife and I have stayed in this hotel several times, but this was the first time in a Premier Plus room and a first for me as partially disabled. First the good points then the ‘however’. …

Exactly as expected from premier. The whole team that we came into contact with were all very friendly, helpful and engaging. The food was great quality and the bar was a nice space for evening drinks.||There is limited disabled parking which would suit those able to park and leave their car for the duration of your stay

First time in a Premier Inn and certainly not the last. Room was huge as was the extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing with everything you can imagine to want in the morning and plenty of it. Staff were great too. Highly recommended. Well done Premier Inn at Shrewsbury.
