The room is satisfactory, barely. There is no fridge, no complementary additives, just a boiling jug. The room is well constructed, yet the toilet compartment seems like a cheap addition to the room, distorting its feel. …

I stayed for a business meeting early the following day hoping to be well rested. Unfortunately whilst the TV remote had not been touched since i arrived to the room as i had watched programs on my laptop, during the course of the night the TV came on illuminating the room with a bright white homepage, this occurred 3 times and by 06:00 i could hear all the street noise below.End result, not fully rested for meeting and the shower was quite poor with a low flow rate and not very warm.

A good hotel for the price. Our double room was bigger than expected, very comfortable bed and good shower. The only thing missing was a small bar fridge.Reception staff were ok and location is close to train station and town centre. All in all we were happy with our two nights stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room is basic, Ibis style, but what you expect from Ibis and the price.||After an awful experience in an Accor hotel in Bedford recently with zero customer service or care, it was good to have my faith restored in the Accor brand.

The room was clean and very good value for money. |Mark on the desk was fantastic when we had our phone stolen in the street. He went out of his way by taking us to the police station at the end of his shift. Top marks. We didn’t try the breakfast but there is a bar in the foyer. Very handy to the railway.

standard stay for the price and location but what has always stuck with me is how rude the male staff member who checked us in was, he clearly did not want to be there. On top of that, the TV did not work in our room.

Everything was made super smooth for me.The staff I encountered were all good and engaging. Can't knock it, extremely good for under fifty notes on a Sunday night.A very large amount of young adults were on a school visit from Chilli and they were all extremely polite and friendly too, making sure other guests could go infront of the queues they caused for lifts etc..

It has been unseasonably cold in Reading the last few days and many people on the street have been wearing winter jackets. After coming in from the cold and wet I wanted to dry off and warm up. But these rooms aren’t heated—they’re cold. The staff said the system would switch over from AC to heat on October 1, but there must be a glitch. It still isn’t on. Helpful desk staff have lent us a room heater after we finally asked for it. Brrrrrr

We stayed four nights at the Ibis in Reading, booked by my husband for its central location. Upon arrival, we had trouble finding the parking area and tried calling the reception for directions. Since the street behind the hotel was blocked by a crane, we stopped for a few minutes and walked to the entrance. The receptionist seemed unaware of the street closure and directed us to park near Nando's.On our first night, the TV in our room had no signal on several channels. We reported this to the staff during dinner, and an Indian staff member advised us on troubleshooting steps we had already tried. Another staff member informed us that maintenance would be available the next day. Upon returning from dinner, some channels worked, but BBC still didn’t. We decided not to report it again.Later that evening, we attempted to order draught beers from the Indian staff member, who informed us they were unavailable and offered bottled beers instead. Unfortunately, the fridge wasn’t working properly, so he served the beer with a glass of ice.Unfortunately, we didn’t feel a warm sense of hospitality or customer service from some of the staff. We recently stayed at an Ibis in Swansea and had a much better experience there. The staff in Swansea were friendly, always smiling, and made us feel welcome.Customer service at the Reading location needs improvement. On a positive note, the shower pressure in the bathroom was excellent.

Good reasonable hotel. Right in the town centre. 5 stars for location, cleanliness, reasonable price.2 stars for not providing even a coffee as a complimentary thing to the guests, selling coffee for 3.5£ when MCd jus opposite is selling for 2.25£
