We had a warm welcome on arrival from James, Brian and Neil. We were a large group and were given our own floor with ensuite rooms, the staff even helped carry our bags up which was very kind.|the bedding was clean and so were the rooms. …

Great value backpackers hostel. Karen & Brian were friendly and helpful. We shared a private room after cycling to Plymouth, and slept soundly.|As you would expect the facilities were basic but clean. Use of the kitchen and breakfast was available.|Would definitely use again.

If I ever find myself in Plymouth again, I would definitely be staying here again! The staff are all so lovely and knowledgeable about the location, friendly and helpful in any way they can be.I was able to check in a bit later as my train was delayed and Karen stayed awake to let me in and check me in.Brian gave me wonderful suggestions on what to do for the day and it ended up being the best day ever!Ran into Neal getting off the Ferry & he gave myself and another hostel friend a tour around the area and showing us places to go and a really good view of the tower. The hostel itself is clean, welcoming and feels like you’re staying at your grandparents place. Little knickknacks everywhere means you’re never bored of looking at things, beds are comfy, rooms are clean.Toilet was difficult to flush and bathroom is a bit small but if you’re not fussy and happy for the price and location, there is no complaints.

A lovely hostel, with a warm atmosphere just a few minutes walking from the city center. A few beautiful hikes easily accessible by public transport. We took a double private room and it was very nice, clean and fully equipped (they also provided towels, hand soap and we could borrow an hairdier and adaptor). To common areas are cozy and make you feel like at home (the decoration is just lively!). Very good breakfast with cereals and toasted bread, all good quality products. The staff was extremely kind, helpful and smiley. Definetly a place to recomend. Thanks a lot guys, it has been a pleasure!

Stayed here last night and was asked to place a £50 deposit due to any room damage, thinking nothing of it as places like this aren’t usually scummy, I paid the £50 and was also told I will have a call back tomorrow, next day no sign of contact from them so I rang up which in I was told that ‘your not getting your £50 deposit back as the room smelt of smoke’. Despite the very low ceilings and the smoke detector in the centre of the room basically making it impossible to smoke without setting the alarms off. Also was told the cameras in the building are watched all night meaning they would’ve seen me go outside the front for a smoke multiple times which I did. Terrible service, don’t recommend staying unless you want to get mugged off by this joke of a place.

For £23/night, 10/10.Quaint little hostel and the staff run a tight ship. I came here for a couple nights to take a break from the weather during a camping trip. I arrived early and was very grateful to be allowed to leave my luggage in the staff area while I walked around town, waiting for my room to be available.Once I arrived, I was given a helpful tour. I had all the instructions I needed to make my stay. The communal area is very welcoming and carries a calm atmosphere at all times of the day. Brilliant for taking a load off and relaxing. There is plenty of space to put your own food in the dining area and even bins for yourself to label your name on. Lovely. The beds were comfy, the bathroom was clean, there was a table to sit at in the room, a towel comes for free, and there were plenty of places to plug in my devices.Cautions:The laundry is clean but the detergent leaves a very strong scent. If you like hot, hot showers, that isn't gonna happen here. The shower water stayed lukewarm -but it wasn't uncomfortable to shower in. A fine temperature for a fine shower. The shower stream is also very powerful (which is great to clean you well as a backpacker!) -but the water can be a bit of a bother for those with sensitive skin. The rooms are not wheelchair accessible.

Clean beds, good location, great price. Spacious common areas.Very friendly and helpful staff. They were happy to hold my suitcase and hand it to the postman to be shipped home while I was away.Breakfast is toast, cereal, coffee, tea and juice, but it's included in the already low price.Overall, I am happy with my stay here, and will be back next time I'm in Plymouth.15-20 min walk from train station. If you're looking to explore Cornwall on a budget, this is a great place to do it from.
