A little too early for Christmas decorations in my opinion, but apart from that, the room was clean and the bed was very comfy. The food was really good, all of the staff were great and willing to help if you needed anything. The quiz and bingo guy was really entertaining, how he holds so much knowledge in his brain is beyond me.

Had an amazing week here. We slept very well in the most loveliest beds . Fab hot spacious showers. Clean rooms. The way to the too. S are a little here there and everywhere. But once you get used to this it's fine. Also a lift. Lovely swimming pool although the floor around the pool could have been cleaned. The food was amazing and plentiful with a carvery type setting which was beautiful everytime and a large choice to choose from both breakfast and evening meal. Staff are lovely and the entertainment was great too. . I would happily stay here again. πŸ‘Œ

We stayed for 2 nights and were fortunate to upgrade to a super king room in the refurbished area of the hotel. You can see the potential of the hotel following the current refurbishments. The room was very clean and comfortable to stay in. Our only little personal niggle was that the overhead bed lighting was too bright. The food was good. The breakfast was toast, cereals, fruit and full English buffet. A continental breakfast option would be a nice addition too. The evening meal was a buffet option of 3 or 4 choices with a small selection of vegetables. The evening entertainment was excellent including bingo and tribute acts. We loved Tina Turner and Elvis. We would happily revisit. The hotel is a close walk to the beach.

Undergoing long term refit so rooms vary from tired (but satisfactory) to modern. (They're honest about it. )Lively place. Show bar is excellent. Definitely a touch above, and acts tend to be upmarket too.Good location. Bus stop outside if need town, or harbour, or wider world access 😊Good sports bar. So lively, friendly place with nice staff, acts, and guests πŸ˜β›±οΈπŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

Parents stayed recently.Don't be surprised if your able to upgrade to a better room (at your cost) that's this hotels business model. Our parents first room was below average in cleanliness, the shower area had cracked tiles and the shower head wasnt even fitted, the door was broken by way of a split all the way down the face. They did get 'upgraded' for an additional Β£30...so this was the correct price for an average stay here.

We stayed in this hotel during a week long trip with Caledonian Travel. This was a nice, clean hotel with lovely staff who were very welcoming and helpful, particularly Tom and the ladies behind the Reception desk. The young staff in the restaurant had a bad attitude and often made mistakes so could do with more training. The hotel was undergoing building work during our stay, so it was both busy and noisy day and night, which was a shame.

I would give this hotel 0 stars for myself.I am a local guide, so this review is genuine, so here we go hope you have a lot off time to read this review as it will save you a lot off money in the long run, in fact run as fast as you can away from this hotel.Me and my partner went here for a four day break with Caledonian bus tours too Torquay that is another story too but we will get there. We got picked up in Edinburgh at Hermiston gate about 6.30am put our suitcases on the bus took our seats and got ready for the journey down to Torquay or so we thought. But little did we know we were just starting a long journey south because of all the stops on the way down and then we stopped at southwaite service station to swap buses which we never knew about so then we had to swap the suitcases on to another bus as one was going to weston supermare and one was going to Torquay which no one explained what was happening until later on in the journey and you could tell not everyone was happy with this arrangement as there is no communication to advise you off this until you are later into the journey. So you have to look through everyone's cases to get to yours and make sure you don't take the wrong oneas it would be an easy mistake too make.so when we eventually arrived at this hotel you better make yourself cup of tea or coffee if you want to read this review to the end as we were not happy customers. So here goes we eventually arrived at the hotel after all the pick ups and all the stops on the way down we were all advises to stay in the lounge at reception and everyone is very tired after all the travelling and then you are asked if you would like to upgrade too a refurbished room with a walk in shower it is five pounds a person or ten pound per person per night to upgrade,so if you don't upgrade don't expect to get a decent room as we didn't upgrade as i think we have paid our money and we should get a room but not for more money as in my eyes you are paying for the refurbishment with your money.so the first morning we got breakfast but when we went to the dining room we weren't told anything where to go our what you do etc, so we went the wrong way round and then after this we just followed the crowd remember you need a wrist band to eat and it is waterproof, so at dinner i read the menu prices it said it was 1.50 each for a can of coke ,pepsi, orange, etc but when i went to get this i was told it was 4.00 pounds for two cans of juice, but i said it was 1.50 on the menu and the girls in the dining room said to me it is 1.50 at the reception but this is the bar i had to have a chuckle to myself as this is the same hotel so you would think it should be the same price in my honest opinion. On the next couple of nights the entertainment was second to none but one night was not as good as the rest and there is bingo every night and a wee quiz. Our room left a lot too be desired before we got too our room after asking if we wanted to upgrade there is a lot off stairs to negotiate.if you have mobility problems go to another hotel, so once we arrived at our room it had a double bed and two single beds but the shower is one that runs off the taps as this part off the hotel is not upgraded so the first night was fine but we noticed in the morning in the bathroom little beasties on the floor that can fly they were coming from the floor through the cracks in the tiles and they were flying into the room and flying around and crawling all over the tea making facilities but the couple we met there was the same as us so i think all rooms must have these but the cleaners must clean the rooms in the morning and get rid off them but they come back in the morning again.so as i say pick another hotel probably cheaper and less hassle imho.so good luck if you don't upgrade and stay in this hotel as for basil faulty lol.As for caledonian travel we had a reference number which you check on the notice board if it is up we spoke to the driver Gordon and he told us there was too many and tours ran out of space.
