An absolutely tremendous dinner. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, the restaurant was lovely. Starters of venison and duck were followed by steak and beef accompanied by a delicious Rioja.  …

We stopped here because maps showed ot as a charging point whilst we were on a trip to Cornwall. And I am so glad we did! I have family in Cornwall and will make this a stop every time from now on. Lunch was lovely, beautifully cooked fresh fish. The staff had the perfect balance of being knowledgeable and friendly. There is a lovely terraced garden. I look forward to going back, and maybe making it a stay over on the way to Cornwall! Highly recommended.

Gorgeous, friendly hotel. This was our third visit to this hotel which we chose because of its location-accessible to the main road between devon and Cornwall with ample parking. It’s a beautiful hotel full of character. …

Lovely place for a drink or for lunch. We now stop regularly on our way to/ from Cornwall. We had afternoon tea today which was delicious - sandwiches, scones, cakes all very well made and tasty. …

The Arundell was fantastic. Front of house staff helped us out of a real scrap and were so kind and thoughtful and caring. So many lovely touches, from welcome cards, to gorgeous smelling toiletries and doggy treats, doggy even got a sausage for breakfast. Breakfasts were delicious, serving staff again were amazing and accommodating. Rooms were great, lovely pillows and great that we could book the dog in with us. Our huge thanks to all the staff for their quality hospitality, we are so grateful to you.

The location is wonderful...check out our bedroom view. Incredibly peaceful and bird song in the morning. Really comfortable bed with great pillows. Superb attention from all the staff and made to feel so welcome. Special mention of front of house Phillipa. She is an asset to the team. Great pint in the bar...we tested to make sure. Breakfast plentiful with excellent local produce. We ate one evening and the flat bread starter was the highlight...poppy seeds were yum.Overall rating is low due to bathroom experience as it is rather tired, perfectly acceptable, just worn. You are able to travel to a multitude of destinations from this place but able to return to the peace and quiet of a country retreat.

We just called in for lunch. Sadly, there was only a Lite Bites menu as the off-season midweek menu which was a bit disappointing. I can't remember what we chose but it was fine. …

We weren’t staying here. Just a 5 minute walk. Had a really lovely meal. The cherry/chocolate tart was to die for. My fish/chips delicious and my husband's rare steak was perfect. All the staff were delightful and fun. A perfect ending to a hard walk on the Tamara Coast to Coast Walk.

Called in last minute at gone 2 for a Sunday roast, amazed to find they serve roasts until 8pm! Been here over the last 15 years for dinner but not for a roast under the new ownership. Outstanding. …

The rooms were nice. We had a room with single beds for a mother and daughter plus a double room for us. Both were good clean rooms with comfortable beds. We stayed her to catch up with family members. Breakfast was a treat with lots of choices. Staff were excellent and catered for our various needs. Dinner was excellent.
