We booked a low key wedding reception for a party of 12, and were taken care of from the moment we first viewed the place until the moment we left as a fed and watered married couple! …

Nice location, the food was ok although the full english looked over cooked and dehydrated, No hot water during our stay of 4days also the extractor fan in the bathroom stopped working , decor looking tired and needs updating, fire doors in the corridors looking battered and worn also very heavy to open. The carpets on the stairs although adequate required the tread to be highlighted as they are virtually invisible when descending due to the pattern you can't distinguish one step from the next. The staff were very polite and welcoming, plenty of off road parking.

Visited with the intentions to go for a coffee+cake with a friend. Walked in and went to quickly pop to the bathroom before going into the eating area and was followed by the manager, who then interrogated us! asking us what we were doing and where we were going? We decided to leave as it made us uncomfortable.

I’ve just got back from a 5 night stay and I can honestly say it was the best food and service I’ve had at a hotel. There was a great choice on the menu and all staff couldn’t do enough for you.  …

We had our wedding ceremony and evening reception all at the lovely Livermead House in Sep 2024. From our first enquiry with Piers and subsequent discussions with him and later Jess to the day itself, where Elliot and his team guided us through the event, we were looked after the whole time we were there. Staff are friendly and courteous and the whole atmosphere takes you back a little to a bygone era, in a good way. Occasionally the communications between different parties went a little astray but it all came together splendidly on the day. As bride and groom we stayed overnight at the hotel and a number of staff took the time to congratulate us as we had breakfast next morning. It's the little touches that stay with you. Thankyou Livermead for making it a truly memorable day.Kevin & Helen.

With the demise of The Palace in Babbacombe The House now has the mantle of style and traditional service in Torbay, Torquays "Dowager Countess". Superb position and sumptuous interiors from a grander age dripping in antiques and lush soft furnishings. Highly trained staff provide classic silver service in livery and the classic cuisine. Yes the accommodation is tired and old fashioned but it is impeccably clean and comfortable.

The Riviera Royals celebrated their 17th birthday at the Livermead House Hotel on 6th June. Such wonderful service and the food was perfect as well as the full silver service, such a treat. The Hotel Staff couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome.
