In a great location to access Exeter. First impression was it looked like a motel. Unfortunately the rooms have thin walls so I was woken by people talking at stupid o clock in the morning! The other side of our room was a snorer!! So it wasn’t a great sleep! Plus if you don’t like a hard mattress this hotel isn’t going to aid you a comfortable sleep! It was too hot in the room and although there was air conditioning it was just too noisy to use.Overall the place was very clean and the food was amazing! You had so much delicious choice of breakfast.Sorry for a negative review, it’s the actual rooms that let it down for us.

Really enjoyed my stay here - really convenient to have a door straight from the room into the outdoors, good little gym area and Sky TV is an added bonus. Despite being near the road, I slept like a baby. What really made this stay was the food and service - dinner in the evening was superb, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best I had seen! Very rare to find fried bread and poached eggs on a buffet! Would definitely return in future

The hotel staff were great and room is nice.I ate in the restaurant, very poor. Ordered the food, it came out wrong. Had to go and complain that it had come out wrong, but the staff are to busy around the bottoms of the bar area talking to each other. So sent my food back, but had to go to the bar to do this. They offered me a replacement, but no menu !! I then had to go and ask for another drink and they brought it but looked annoyed. They didn’t come back again.I feel like I was the one at fault, shocking service and doesn’t do the hotel an favours.

We had a fabulous tasty carvery at the hotel lunch time today. Aga our waitress was absolutely amazing, nothing was to much trouble and she even went out of her way to help us sort out a boxing day booking! Definitely looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely hotel, staff really friendly! The restaurant next door was really nice! Room simple but exactly what you need! There is currently building work not far from the hotel but doesn’t disturb you! Will defiantly come back!

Group of 16, food was good for good value ||Timing of service was very poor, half of group were sent to collect carvery as other half were receiving pre-ordered food, this meant half of group had finished eating before first of carvery group returned to table to start. Not ideal when supposed to be eating as a family.

The Devon Hotel is a lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Breakfast was self service and very good value for money with plenty of choice. We would use this hotel again when visiting Exeter.

As a solo female traveller I was not impressed with the room I was given, it was a ground floor external facing room, with an adjoining door to the next room. When I checked the door the locked didn't seem secure and I subsequently didn't feel safe or secure all night. I won't be using this hotel again for business travel.
