I stayed one Saturday night in this hotel with my mum and my little dog. The room is spacious and clean and the view is very good. We had dinner at the hotel, the food is very very good. The breakfast is free and everything cooked just right. I love their beer garden with live music. After a long coastal walk, drinking in their garden is soooo enjoyable. All staff are very friendly. Parking at the hotel is free first come first serve for residents. And there are on the road parking just 2 minutes walk to the hotel. The parking fee is very reasonable. And last but not least, the location of the hotel is just perfect. Beautiful and perfect. We had a great time there. Thank you!

Whilst we love Lynmouth and love the Rock House, the unmanned hotel situation isn't for us. We stay at The Rock house as it's the only ground floor room in Lynmouth . …

Had a great stay here. Lovely room overlooking the quayside and river mouth to the sea. Lucked out on a rainy day to arrive during the Lynmouth Maritime regatta that had fun activities all day. Staff were helpful and friendly. Convenient parking with a short walk over the bridge to everything in Lynmout and the cliff railway to Linton. Would stay again

This is a difficult review to write. The location is wonderful, parking is hit and miss.... Seven spaces and nine rooms! The guy who was on reception was very friendly. The room....we stayed in room nine on the ground floor....This room was classed as four stars...You are situated right next to the public toilets,so if listening to a handdryer going extremely frequently is your thing, this is the room for you!!On the plus side,at least hands were being washed. ...The room cost £150 for one night... astonishingly overpriced...Yes, the location is fab, but....Positives:Bed was twins together, still comfortable with clean bedding.Plenty of tea/coffee available... Spacious room and bathroom.Lovely powerful, hot shower.Negatives:For the price, the room definitely needs updating. The dressing table stool was completely broken,a little dangerous if someone didn't notice.Dressing table was badly marked,as we're the walls ,which would be better painted the same dark blue as dining area. The bathroom window was broken, the shower needs new seal around door and tiles need a deep clean.I know this sounds really picky, but for the cost, should be of a higher standard.I don't think the room is in a position to be hired out.I was very pleasantly surprised at how quiet the evening was ..The reason that I would return to this hotel....100% the staff!!The young lady who served our breakfast was a credit to the hotel.Lovely, friendly and nothing was any trouble. The English breakfast was really tasty, compliments to the chef...So,staff wonderful, but owners need to shut the room or overhaul 😊

Wow, another devon establisment taking the mickey, knows they have a captive audience and well what a poor meal, £22.95 for a 10oz rump that is meant to come with 'thick chips', the chef clearly couldn't be arsed or doesn't know the menu.Medium rare was ordered, a well done steak came. We specifically turned up early to ensure the best possible take on the meal. but this was a £10 meal at best, a very fatty cut of meat even for a rump, the steak had to be no more than 7or 8oz, over salted fries came instead of thick cut. the best part of the meal was the mushroom, how depressing.Dont bother if you want a decent meal.We did have an understanding with the server and got refunded for the gammon meal as it was so tough it was borderline inedible.

Unmanned hotel, no food available Monday or Tuesday and no cereal available at Wednesday breakfast. Be prepared to walk to a local pub for breakfast. …

Popped in for a drink as we were staying at the sister hotel. The carvery looked amazing and my husband kept saying how the giant pigs in blankets looked so good but we were booked in for dinner that evening at our hotel. …
