Visited here on Saturday for the wedding of my nephew and his wife. Welbeck is situated approximately 8 miles from Plymouth City centre in the pretty village of Sparkwell. We had sole use of the premises for the wedding, which catered for approximately 60 day time guess. It was laid out really lovely for the service & and followed by the wedding meal. My daughter was the florist who did the bridal flowers along with the flowers around the function rooms. All the staff were friendly, very attentive & professional in their duties. The food was excellent, very tasty & well presented. All in all a very pleasant day & evening celebrating with the happy couple.

We booked a night here for our first wedding anniversary and it is a very beautiful place. Scenery is lovely, and the staff were all fantastic. Our bedroom was lovely; clean and well stocked with tea/coffee, towels etc. I enjoyed the Woo Woo cocktail in the evening, and the delicious Royal Benedict for breakfast. The only fault that we found was the fire door in the corridor outside our bedroom door was noisy and we were woken up several times overnight when other guests were entering the floor, and the door didn't appear to have a soft close mechanism.Saying this, we had a nice time here and wouldn't hesitate to return if we are in the area again.

Very dangerous shower, scalding hot to freezing without touching dial. Room scruffy but clean. However it was like sleeping in a corridor, vastly overpriced for what it was. …

We came here for an evening meal and to stay 1 night with breakfast. The hotel is in a lovely location. The food was amazing, especially the dressed crab cake. The staff were very friendly and hard working. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and would definitely visit again.

My partner and I stayed at Welbeck Manor a couple of days before our wedding before heading over the venue. When we arrived, the lovely staff upgraded us to their bridal suite, which was a huge surprise and incredibly kind of them! …

This stay was a tale of two halves. I didn’t have a good first impression after the receptionist laughed in my face when I told her there was a builder at my open bathroom window while I was using the facilities. I didn’t have a good second impression after the receptionist forgot to lay us a table for dinner after specifically asking us if we wanted to join the Indian and Quiz night. On that, the food was ok but there definitely wasn’t enough of it. The staff all seemed to be new and didn’t know what was going on. Following both issues above, not once was I offered an apology. Positives, the room was lovely and you can tell the new owners have done a lot to renovate the building. Views are beautiful. It’s a nice place to stay for a night but I wouldn’t return.
