My stay at Grove Road Cottages was superb. I was impressed by the cleanliness, stylish decor, and overall maintenance. The bathrooms and kitchens were spotless, and the chic furniture and tasteful artwork created eclectic spaces. The outdoor courtyard was clean, with a seating area. In summary, the cottage exceeded our expectations. The cleanliness, stylish decor, and attention to maintenance truly made it stand out. I wholeheartedly recommend Grove Road Cottages to anyone seeking a stylish cottage stay in the heart of Stratford.

Grubby and unpleasantThe bathroom for this property is particularly nasty. There are no hand towels, no lock and the poor design means that the wet room concept is a little too literal. Everything gets soaked, and the floor is unsafe after anyone else has had a shower.Shower head is broken, reattached with electrical tape, front door is heavily damaged, courtyard is neglected and unpleasant, shower head is clogged with lime scale. Oh and there's a dying plant to enhance the sense of care and attention to detail. There is a strong smell of gas downstairs, and a strong smell of damp upstairs. Whilst I'm sure the owner has everything tested, these unpleasant odours add to the feel of the property being dirty and uncared for.Stratford is a tourist hub. It's somewhere I visit regularly and this is one of the worst places I've stayed. Save your money. Look elsewhere.

Unfortunately, the property was very underwhelming and tired despite at one point being well invested in. The first thing we noticed though was the smell, which smelled like gas. We contacted the host who said it was from the open fire place, but the smell was definitely coming from the kitchen where the boiler was and only advised to leave the back door or a window open. We ended up blocking the bottom of the kitchen door to stop the smell getting into the rest of the house but it genuinely took you back when entering the house from being out. The road noise was very loud in the living room, as there was no seal on the front door. You could actually see outside. The house also wasn't particularly clean with badly smeared mirrors and surfaces in every room and even dried chips on the floor. The bathroom, although quite stylish, smelled very damp and mould-like and the shower was pitted with limescale. We've stayed in a LOT of holiday lets around the UK, and this was by far the most disappointing. Would not recommend, we were swayed by the reviews but our experience was very different to those described. The location was good, but the parking was more of a challenge than anticipated if you have any mobility issues. This review is for Simpsons cottage and was booked on AirBnb but due to family circumstances I missed the deadline to leave a review, hence the Google review instead.

Paul the host was there to welcome us and provide any information required. The parking permit provided was most welcome. The property is on a main road so some noise is to be expected, but this is a small inconvenience for the close proximity to the town centre (less than 5 mins walk). The cottage was clean and the décor most impressive. The stairs are quite steep but this was not an issue for our party. The bedrooms were large and the copper bath an added bit of luxury. The kitchen was more than adequately equipped enabling home-catering but there were plenty of excellent restaurants and takeaways a short stroll away. All in all, we had a wonderful stay in Simpsons cottage and would highly recommend.

We had a large group of 18 people. Hired all the cottages. Paul the owner was super friendly. Amazing location, only a short walk into town. Each cottage quirky. No.4 and no.6 had big open living spaces for games nights. Cheaper booking direct.Easier parking at the railway station for the weekend rather than using the permits. Downside was No.6's 3rd bedroom is up very steep stairs so not appropriate for older generations/pregnant/young children, this wasn't clear in the booking details, luckily our group had some teenagers that were more than happy being tucked away in the attic room. Boiler in no.4 did play up but owner Paul happy to help and sort out for us.

We stayed as a group of 10 plus children, stayed in 2 cottages No4 and No6 and, cannot recommend the cottages highly enough.Paul the host was fantastic providing advise and support when our original booking had to change at short notice due to COVID test results.Cottage were clean and really nicely decorated, lots of space in the lounges to gather to gather as a group for games and dinner. Great location which is close to town and amenities. Would recommend.
