I booked this place for myself and three friends. Very friendly and efficient staff - Katie served us lunch and Simona served us dinner. The service from both was brilliant and the food ( and beer ) delicious.  …

On this, our third stay at the wonderful Howard Arms, being older and less mobile we were in the Garden Room which has two windows looking over the large, pretty garden.  …

Our second visit (see my more detailed revue September 2021). Delighted to have a good excuse to return. This time we brought friends, put them in the fabulous Village Room while we had Old Beam.  …

We stayed from 8-11 August. We booked last minute so had to change rooms after the first night, but the staff promised to move everything to the new room for us, and they did so perfectly. …

We stayed at The Howard Arms while on a Cotswolds walking trip and loved every second we were there! We were welcomed from the moment we walked in (from a long walk feeling tired and I'm sure looking gritty) as if we were long lost friends. The inn is just lovely with beautiful space inside for a comfortable pint, and space for dinner too. The garden areas are spacious and so acomdating as well. The rooms were phenomenal! So comfortable, and everything any person could ever need and so much more! Just amazing! We had drinks at the pub as often as we could and dinner each night we stayed. The food was incredible, and absolutely delicious! My son ordered a steak and it came with the most delicious gravy any of us have ever tasted! We honestly almost asked the next night if we could just have a nice big mug of the gravy for our dinner! And breakfast, well don't skip breakfast because it is amazing! The local apple juice, fresh yogurt, local honey.... I could go on forever. Just know you will love it and not be hungry afterwards. We were completely blown away by the friendliness and kindness of all the staff, every single person we interacted with was genuinely interested in who were and what we were doing in their lovely town and inn. Big extra shout out to Jo who went out of her way to be kind and friendly to us, and we will never forget it. 😁Do yourself a big favor and plan a trip to stay at The Howard Arms, I absolutely guarantee you will be more than glad you did!

Stay here. Dine here. Stay at least two nights. We're on a walking tour and stayed two nights and could have stayed a 3rd to finish sampling the menu.Food - we tried as much as we could! Stand out dishes were the tomato soup, Runner bean salad, Courgette tempura main dish. Presentation was exceptional and portions were perfect. Whoever is working in the kitchen is a gem.I asked for smaller portions at breakfast and they listened. The muesli is tasty as were the hot dishes.Service - the people are fabulous. Everyone! Tom and Tim are top notch (so is everyone else, we just don't recall all their names!) I loved the room name sign at the breakfast table.Room - it's the little things that make a difference. Lighting in bathroom, a sitting area, plenty of surface area to set things out, tub/shower combo, and cookies!I forgot to mention the pizza oven, the gardens and outside seating and a night with some live music.By far our favorite inn out of 5 we've stayed at on this trip.

Our third stay at the Howard Arms was basically fine, but a number of minor misfortunes deprived this lovely place of a fifth star on this occasion.  …
