Everything was fantastic. Group of 8 of us had lovely wine, served by very nice people and majority of the food was gorgeous. However being told that your chicken dish that was bright red and had a pool of red fluid running through it was 'cooked' opinions went right down. Worked alongside michelin star chefs for 3 years and that would of never been excused. Won't be returning. Service staff were exemplary though!

A birthday celebration Sunday lunch was just the best. Delicious food and very good service from all staff. A busy and popular venue but nothing was too much trouble. Dessert was a birthday cake I’d made. “No problem at all…..would you like a jug of cream with it ?”( No charge was added to the bill)

Sunday lunch was great, the beef was excellent. The place was crowded and the table was 20 minutes late, but no problem. Service was good, efficient and friendly. We read some poor reviews but we couldn't fault our experience.

This is a wonderful rural pub offering high-quality meals in a lovely setting. We went for a birthday lunch and enjoyed a 3 course meal. My ham hock terrine starter and hake main course (both on the specials menu) were delicious, as was the rhubarb and apple crumble we both had for dessert. My husband enjoyed his starter but was less convinced by the lamb main course, which he said didn't quite work as executed, even if the idea sounded nice. No matter - we had an enjoyable time and hope to return soon.

Dinner with friends at this lovely place on a Saturday night. Wonderful service- professional, efficient, friendly. Our host Helen was outstanding- so helpful, so accommodating and so caring. True asset to the company. The food was delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. The quality of wine is excellent too. An ambience and the setting is elegant and cosy. Loved our experience so thank you to everyone a the Punchbowl!

Big family dinner and they couldn't cope. They forgot to put through an order... so the person had to pick something easy to ensure they ate with us. We constantly had to chase our food, the staff just didn't seem interested. The roast took forever to come out it was a let down. The roast potatoes were hard and chewy. The veg was over done and no accommodation for allergies.I'm sure normal meals are very good, but big groups and roasts isn't their speciality. Shame because the coffee was lovely the drinks were great and the kids dinners were spot on.

Although the punchbowl is an excellent restaurant looking prestigious we were not allowed to take our dogs in for lunch where there are several other restaurants in the area very similar who do. It is their perogative.

We had an excellent lunch experience at this cozy spot! The service was outstanding—friendly and swift, which we truly appreciated. Our order included a burger, fish and chips, and a Caesar salad. Each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, significantly enhancing our dining pleasure. The restaurant itself boasts a charming, rustic decor and is meticulously maintained, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. However, there was a slight hiccup; our table could have used a proper wipe, and unfortunately, my glass was chipped. Despite this, we're eagerly looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommended if you're in the mood for tasty, well-prepared dishes served efficiently in a delightful setting.

Fabulous lunch for 10 people celebrating a birthday today. Every meal was amazing. The children's meals were served quickly which meant the grown ups were able to help the little ones before their food arrived. I've never had a mediocre meal here, always a good experience.
