I am very fond of the properties that Liana owns/manages. I stayed in Lower Moatville twice ( you may wish to read that review,) and then I stayed in Castlefield because it was closer to my son and his family. It was already booked for my first two trips to Cupar. Castlefield is cozy, well-equipped and its location is ideal. Liana is absolutely attentive to your needs. She takes great pride in her properties and it shows. She has recently enhanced the garden area, making it that much more inviting. I am a repeat beneficiary of Liana's hospitality, as are other members of my family. You will be too, once you enjoy the comfort and convenience of this, or any one of her properties.

Pros: Free parking close outside.Beautifully presented clean cottage. Excellent kitchen: fridge-freezer, ceramic hob, coffee-machine, microwave, washing machine, plus wide variety of utensils and complimentaries.Tv and dvd: sound in every room. Good internet connection.Comfortable beds. Well-furnished bedrooms with tvs and dvd.Very good, powerful shower with two heads. Lovely towels.Small outside area with summer house.Enjoyed entertaining friends there. Central for trips around Fife. Supermarkets/shops/restaurants nearby.Cons: Not a pretty exterior, but this off-set by attractive interior. Friends exclaimed with delight as they came in, at the difference between the outside and inside. One bedroom is next to street with ugly view over municipal car-park. Inconvenient, because you have to keep blinds drawn. People pass by right next to window, inches away.Kitchen fittings were impressive— but no explanation of how most worked! An instruction booklet was supplied only for washer. I figured out the cooker but it would have been easier and more relaxing with instructions. Gave up on coffee machine. A folder with instructions for all the gadgets would be useful.Given the quality of other kitchen equipment, strange to find the only can-opener was the kind my grandmother had: a flimsy, blunt thing with a screw-handle. I made dinner for friends and wanted to open some cans of tomatoes…Had to hunt for a can-opener and then couldn’t even puncture tins with the thing supplied. Had to ask my partner, and even he had difficulty. — A small niggle, but in an otherwise splendidly equipped kitchen—an old-fashioned can-opener that wouldn’t work! Spoiling the ship for ha’porth of tar?Although delighted to find many things supplied, we couldn’t find salt or kitchen towel, so bought some. Later, opening cupboards in the living room, I found salt, kitchen roll and other kitchen supplies! Later still, taking down a tray from the top of the fridge, found the tray loaded with kitchen foil, cling-film and other useful things (though, unfortunately, not the instructions for the coffee machine.) — We appreciated these things being supplied, but there seemed little logic to where they were stored. It would be useful to have all these things stored in one place, or, if that’s not possible, to add the secret of where they’re hidden to the guests’ folder.

Warm, clean, welcoming and very well equipped is how I'd describe cosy cottage. On a quiet street with plenty of parking and only a short stroll to the town center. Host is most welcoming and I would highly recommend this delightful cottage.
