Stayed for 2 nights with family party attending family wedding reception in nearby Fochabers Institute. Great location on main street, pleasant helpful staff, good breakfasts, comfortable rooms and good value. ||Recommended if you're travelling in this part of Scotland famous for its single malt distilleries and salmon fishing.

The hotel is functional. Rooms and bathroom are very small. Housekeeping staff was great and found me a hairdryer as soon as I asked. No one at reception on the weekend so you need to check in at the pub next door. Location, however, is excellent, if you plan on driving the castle trail for the next few days.

Faulty towers makes this place look good! Landline number that is advertised doesn’t exist. Practically impossible to make contact on either of the mobile numbers and when you do you get asked to text to which no response. …

Hotel definitely needs updating however lovely location but Huntly going through lots of shop renovations so lots closed down. The staff friendly and helpful and breakfast was to die for next door in cafe. Huntly Castle a ten minute walk and worth checking out. Hotel is a ten minute walk from station but watch out for hail stones. Haven't been back home for 30 years not much has changed,.on the whole I would recommend staying there.left early in morning and they suplied me with a large packed lunch, thank you.

Alarm bells should have rung when on their website, the only phone number was a mobile. On calling that mobile, all you get is a slighly startled "Hello?" with no indication you have called a hotel.  …

Normally, I don’t like to write negative reviews because I know how dependend businesses are of it. But this hotel is whack. The building itself is beautiful and the pictures shown here on Google are probably from older times when this hotel was at its peak. Today, it is like a lost place. My room stank like „old person“, the water pressure in the shower is a joke, the stains on the carpet photographed and postet by a commenter here 8 months ago are still there. Not for that price, or not ever again!PS: breakfast was nice tho.

We only stayed at the hotel due to the roads all around Huntly being impassable due to the weather. The room we stayed in was clean and warm but in need of updating, hence the poorest rating of the 3. The service was however 1st class, mostly due to the incredible manager Amy. She worked her socks off to get all the stranded people a room for the night and advised where people gould get food as the hotels chef was not available. Breakfast was great (whether it was a different chef or all the staff mucked in, who knows or cares as it was excellent)

“Cheers Cafe Bar” (on the right hand end of the building) is just a bar. I went in and asked if they serve tea and cake. “No we don’t.” So I’ve no idea why they’ve got “Cafe” on the windows.

Myself and some friends were staying for the weekend whilst attending a wedding. When we arrived we heard grumblings from some other wedding attendees that there had been a booking confusion. …
