When you arrive you call a number so someone can let you in (we were called liars when we said the number diverts you and hangs up and had to prove otherwise). …

We stayed for two nights and will never go back again let's just say it is the worst hotel if you can call it that the bar was shut the hole time we stayed there and room was just not what we expected. As we use hotels a lot we expect the rooms to be clean . The towels wear filthy the handle for the toilet was hanging off the door lock was not secure and the door had a chain on the tiles in the shower were falling of the walls . All in all just avoid like your life depends on it . The extractor fan was also full of dust fire hazard.

Disgusting rooms that are absolutely filthy, very few of the things they offer are actually true. Hotelier is rude, arrogant and has severe personal hygiene issues. Woke us up at 2am for our key. Broke down the door next to us. …

The hotel was locked up and looked derelict. Our booking had been cancelled just before arrival but we managed to find the owner at his other property who was obliging enough, and where rooms were provided. The Queensberry needs major investment and is not the best choice.

If your call is diverted to a man with a thick, foreign accent and he invites you another hotel, near the station, do not go under any circumstances.

I called this guy (Daniel) at the Queensberry Hotel & Restaurant in Dumfries, as I wanted to stay at this hotel for a few nights whilst on business and the place had come highly recommended to me. The call diverted to a mobile, then somebody with a foreign accent answered and spoke to me that badly, I wouldn’t even speak to a dog like that. If I were you, give this place a body swerve as why should you spend your hard earned money staying somewhere where you’re going to be treated like an animal. He may speak to people where he comes from like that, but quite honestly, in this country, we treat people with more respect. Upon speaking to a few other places, I’ve since learned the place is run by local gangsters, so I’m pretty relieved that this happened now. DW

On a rainy trip out to Dumfries. We stopped in to the Queensberry by chance to grab some good pub grub.Really beautiful inside, bright comfortable and very chilled out.Service was very friendly and welcoming.I ordered the Queensberry Special Burger (Chicken Fillets, Haggis, peppercorn sauce, bacon, etc. served with Onion Rings slaw and chips), my partner ordered the Double Bacon Cheeseburger (again with the same sides). The food was delicious, wonderfully presented, and AMAZING value for money. I could see from the rest of the menu, that the others meals on the menu were very reasonably priced too, like a Full Scottish Breakfast for £8.50. If the sheer amount of good food we got for what we paid is anything to go by, the rest of the menu shows a lot of promise.Overall we were very relaxed and very satisfied. Would definitely stop by again.

Stayed with friends, 8 of us in total. All our rooms were immaculate, beds comfortable. Good showers. The manager was very helpful and was on hand for anything we needed. The bar was closed due to the current situation but it didn't matter to us.Have stayed here before and will definitely be back.Brilliant location, 2 minutes from the main square and all the pubs, places to eat and shops. Some beautiful walks near by, the riverside walk is lovely.
