Convenient hotel in Central Dunfermline (but with plenty of parking at the back), that was nicely furnished and surprisingly modern given parts of the building are 200 years old. The staff were friendly and breakfast was great. Only snag was the kitchen closes at 7.45 pm so if you want to eat at the hotel be sure to do so early.

Had a very late check (1 am) in after a long flight to Edinburgh. Perfect place to stay before our 2 hour drive next morning. Night porter arrived quickly after our arrival to let us in, check in and payment was easy. …

A group of us had a fabulous lunch at The City Hotel yesterday. We sat in The conservatory part so when there was a downpour of rain for a short period of time, the sound effects were mad!😄The choice of meals were really good on the menu and the staff were lovely and friendly, with efficient service. Would definitely return. Relaxing décor and spotless loos. Car parking was in Glen Bridge Car Park, at the back of The City Hotel.

A nice hotel in the old quarter of beautiful Dunfermline. Receptionist was welcoming and friendly, nice clean room and comfortable bed. Not a great view over the back carpark but not a problem. The restaurant was good, same view over carpark I'm afraid, but the food was excellent and plenty of it! The hotel is on the main High Street and right near the entrance to a beautiful park, would recommend a morning or evening stroll! Our only quibble was coming into the bar after a meal one evening for a drink the bar staff were less than welcoming, obviously shutting up shop and wanting to go home and this was before 9pm....we were asked if we were staying at the hotel before we could get a drink and felt most unwelcome....such a shame as apart from this our stay was lovely. To finish on a positive note the breakfast staff (two lovely ladies) were wonderful and the Scottish Breakfast was excellent!
