The property is uncared for but a small amount of work could turn it around. Why not stand up the broken fence and bury the wire coming out of the gravel? My room was adequate with a bed couch tv and shower, but when I tried the shower there was no hot water. They advertise free wifi but don't give you the password. There is a laundry but the driers have no heat. The place is cheap but it's still a rip off. Avoid.

Great location but that's the only positive. The whole house has a bad odor and there's mold in the room / bathroom. Shower leaks. Very dirty. Sleeping ( or lack there of because I'm so uneasy and uncomfortable) with the window cracked because the smell is so bad. Reading old reviews, it looks like the owner has completely ignored the mold and uncleanliness of the kitchen/ house, which is a real shame because it has potential to be great. Beds are very uncomfortable with flat pillows and I'm questioning the conditions of the mattresses, hoping for no bed bugs- I would not recommend.Edited to add: dropped a star because people were smoking indoors and between the smell of cigarettes and the musty, yucky smell already there, it was impossible to sleep. Do noooootttt book.

Booked to stay 3 nights with a friend. I genuinely cannot think of words to describe this place, it's nothing like other hostels i have stayed in that's for sure! …

A bit strange, slightly surreal in a David Lynch , non good way. It is unattended check in, you walk in off the street and find a key. The kitchen smells of a thousand fried things that are still in the extractor fan. …

the place is awesome! Not sure why people are leaving negative reviews. I had the purple 5 garden cabin- it was incredible! I was soaked from hiking the Great Glen Way- and this is right on trail!! I had a lock code, used it to get my key and went inside. Super clean, warm, welcoming. A chinese take out middle of nowhere down the road 13 minute walk and a convenience store around the corner from there, both close at 10pm. what’s not to like??!!! just awesome! This is a review of the mini Bungalow’s in the garden, not the hostel itself. The women on the phone who helped me was professional, kind and polite. The Room is solid for one person, even for 3 it could work!! Just BOOK it! A bit confused about the complaints about no one around and self catering. The LESS i have to deal with people the better- so…I’m so happy I booked here. I used Expedia; was 69.00 for the cabin at the time! What a steal! Love it here! incredibly quiet and charming!

It's a hostel, not The Ritz. Our room was a good size and clean. Location is great for the loch. Our check in was maybe 30 minutes late but we also booked very last minute so I don't hold this against them.

Bunkbeds were comfortable. Room was dusty, radiator didn't work, TV didn't work, no hot water and no WiFi code despite it being part of the package. We contacted the owner but no response. Outside was shabby and unkempt. The kitchen was useable. If it had been £50 a night I would still have been unhappy but would probably have let it go, but we paid £104 for one night at this less than delightful hostel.

Dirty. Mold on the walls and ceiling, especially in bathroom, which was hard to use because of the smell. Beds were quite clean. I don't recommend it at all.

Good location. Rooms were pretty run down. Nothing gross like bugs, but certainly some caked on grime and some possible mould in the shower. We were 11 minutes after our checkout time when the owner came to loudly let us know we needed to be gone already. We were on our way out. There was no other interaction with the owner or other staff do do not expect anyone who can give recommendations or respond to any issues in a timely manner. We really struggled to get the heater working as the labels on all the buttons had worn off, but could not locate anyone to help. Towels were pretty gross too. Altogether, it's fine but nothing I'd look forward to.

My family and I recently spent two nights here. The only positive was the location. There is a great coffee/breakfast spot next door and the restaurant across the street was delish! The accommodations, though, were pitiful!  …
