Pleasant stay. Hotel does the job perfectly and is in good location for sea and air transport onwards. Roomy and well maintained accommodation with a powerful shower. Despite a raging storm, we had a comfortable and quiet night. …

Comfy beds and quiet well equipped rooms. Past experience led us not to dine as there is simply no staff or service early in the morning on the weekends. We had to search for the poor lad to check out on the Sunday as he was on his own with everything to do and no support. As someone with over 25 years experience in the same trade I know that this is down to either poor management or a corporate bean pusher with zero experience calling the shots on the payroll. It was certainly not the wee lads fault. We would stay again, but would again take breakfast in the Morrisons around the corner.

Rooms were OK quite clean and tidy, tea was available. Only thing wrong with the room for me was the tv. A smart tv would be a good upgrade.|Food was very nice, recommend ultimate spicy beef burger, was very nice with the sauce. Also the Scottish breakfast went down a treat.

Great hospitality, very friendly staff with great enthusiasm. Room was very clean on arrival and new towels were issued everyday. Tv could have been upgraded but was still good enough. The signal isn’t the best but the WiFi works perfectly fine in the room.

Good pub food for a reasonable price, nice atmosphere and friendly helpful staff! Mac and cheese was good as was the kebab! Great selection of cakes as well. They also have deals on weeknights so I got a steak pie with a drink for £12. ||Red Squirrel never disappoints!

Had a lovely Sunday carvery roast , food was great , service was friendly. We had our wee cat with us and we were given a nice seat in the bar . We usually go to The Ravenscliff as that’s our local but we were delighted with the service at Red Squirrel whilst on holiday . We thought the manager went out of his way to make us welcome .

This is a small dormitory style hotel, where check in/hotel reception is actually in the pub/restaurant facing it.They were friendly and efficient in there and I had my room key within 2 minutes of entering the building. The hotel itself is quiet and set back from the A78 dual carriageway at a roundabout junction. So it's a good location for getting about, but the views are of a road wide services and scrub land so no spectacular visas or Seaview to be had here. The foyer has a vending machine and leaflets racks, and entry to the main corridors is accessed through a door that requires your key card to unlock.I was in a ground floor room which was a decent size, clean and quiet, and comes with a hairdryer tea and coffee facilities and a decent sized TV that you can signing and out of your streaming services on, should you wish, alongside an en-suite bath/shower room. The bed and small pillows were comfortable. No complaints really. Reasonable accommodation at a reasonable cost. If you're looking for somewhere clean to rest your head each evening after spending your day exploring all this area has to offer (which is lots) then you are well served. For the price it gets 4 stars, although that doesn't mean it's a four star hotel.

Beware! The hotel is separate from the Reception and Restaurant which is annoying when its raining!||The accommodation was standard fare for Marstons with an average bed and skinny synthetic pillows. …
