We stayed here one stormy night in September and had a lovely time. Our room was in the Quiet Garden portion of the hotel, an adjacent gorgeous old home that has become.part of the hotel. The room was spacious and beautiful. (and warm)We had two dinners in the dining room which were excellent. The menu has something for everyone and the service was friendly and professional.Overall the hotel was perfect and a very welcome respite after a cool wet day in the great outdoors.

Four of us enjoyed a very nice visit to the carvery. Food was plentiful and delicious, such a great choice of roast meats and selection of vegetables . A super selection of deserts all fresh and very tasty. The staff were friendly and very efficient, a great team!

Stopped in for the Sunday carvery, food was good, cream of veg soup starter delicious, main course was filling, large help yourself portion, I had cheesecake n cream for dessert which again was moreish. The dining room was busy, shame they were short staffed as this resulted in us not receiving the bottle of wine ordered till our meal was over. Had to cancel the wine but overall enjoyed the meal.

Whole room not level - including the bed obviously - no decent rest here. Lumpy mattress and hard pillows. By the time the shower was hot, the shower tray was almost overflowing so had to rush. …

We had a lovely , spotlessly clean large room in the Georgian garden annex looking out onto a well maintained walled garden. Lashings of hot water in a modern bathroom. The bed was king size and newly carpeted. …

I was warned it "had a rustic charm" but I instantly fell in love with the place. The staff has been so kind, they have great personalities, and work so hard. The rooms are nice, they are clean, and there's even a USB plug in the wall because I've lost my charger. Definitely one of my favorite hotels from this trip. 💘🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The only reason I stayed was because it was cheaper than a hotel in Orkney and would make a very long day after the four hour train from Inverness. However I was completely wowed by the room. …

We spent a fabulous two nights at the Pentland Hotel. Lisa was a fantastic hostess and made sure we were well taken care of! I'd highly recommend this as a place to stay! There are plenty of sites to see from Thurso and next time we hope to stay longer. We definitely hope to be back!

This hotel is great. The staff are friendly and it’s in a great location in Thurso. The room I stayed in had a brand new bathroom and was a very large room. I was up for work and would definitely recommend this hotel. There’s a nice restaurant and bar on site. The rooms

Stopped here for dinner a few months ago. Did not stay the night so can not comment on rooms. Dinner was not good at all. Food was plentiful but of the frozen kind and relatively tasteless. Staff were friendly but not very good, chatting instead of serving.
