Came here on a coach holiday and spent two nights here. The hotel is in a splendid location, in a quiet village with beautiful coastal views, and a Co-op supermarket and craft village right next to it. But my experience of the hotel itself was very mixed. Check-in and porter service were swift and efficient. There's no lift, but that was not a problem for me. My single room, on the first floor, was basic but clean, with all the usual amenities: flatscreen TV, hairdryer, tea, coffee and biscuits, but there was no heating on. I did have a really nice bathroom: clean and modern, with a walk-in shower and large bottles of shower gel and shampoo. The only thing I could fault about it was that there were no rails to hang the towels on. The bar lounge is spacious and comfortable, with a large stone fireplace and friendly bar staff. Pity it's so far from the restaurant. I bought a glass of red wine to enjoy with my evening meal, and then had to carry it down two flights of stairs. Our starters and desserts were brought to our tables by a waiter, but the main course was buffet service. The food was generally well presented and decent quality, with generous servings, though on our first evening it was only lukewarm, and the vegetables were stone cold. Thankfully, it was better on our second night. Breakfast was standard self-service, well cooked, but not a lot of choice. The staff on the whole were friendly enough, and the reception staff were very helpful. But overall, I felt that our stay at this hotel could have been a lot better.

Room 4/10The shining glory of the room was the bathroom. Without I would struggle to give it above a 3 out of 10. The carpets are stained throughout, the decor tired and stuck in the 90s. The TV struggled to keep any one channel on without issues, and there was a smell we couldn't quite pinpoint. My biggest gripe is from 5am there was noise all around us! I have never stayed in such a noisy hotel ever! The room above us sounded like they were doing laps around their room for a solid 2 and half hours just for the fun of it. You could hear other people's conversations from rooms to the side and above. And the corridors sounded like a motorway at points. Something needs to be done about soundproofing in the rooms.Bar 3/10Extortionately overpriced, that's from someone visiting from London.Breakfast 5/10Buffet style, it was OK, nothing special.Overall 4/10This hotels best feature is where it is located, but for £169 a night, it is grossly overpriced for what you get. The whole place felt like it was stuck in the 90s and needs modernising throughout (apart from the bathrooms in the room). It also appears the consistency of what you get room to room differs as family in a different room had a wildly different experience to us.Other than that, the views from the hotel are glorious!

Very disappointed. Giving 2/5 as being generous. Views of the lake were lovely. The seagulls seemed to have more personality than the staff. …

Here for 2 nights. This is an older style hotel. Our room was nice & clean, the bed was OK but it is a smallish room so a bit cosy for 2 + luggage & has only 1 luggage rack. …

All the floor is stained. The restaurant is terrible, poor service, and expensive; I had the worst fish and chips of my life here, tasted like microwaved crap. Breakfast buffet was also some seriously bad cafeteria food. We started eating from the Co-Op store nearby. The lounge area was almost empty yet they forbid us from eating our snacks in the lounge, just to make sure the service was as bad as possible. The bathroom smelled like a pool (mold/sewage issue) and there's no fridge, microwave. Only boiling water to make ramen, better than trash restaurant. Bathroom didn't lock either. There was water on the floor when we arrived. Beds uncomfortable. On checkout, they mistook us for other guests and tried charging us money. Amazingly awful, this hotel is just abysmal, pathetic job and the owners ought to be ashamed to lord over such a sad excuse of a place, what an embarrassing legacy. The dessert is very good though to be fair. And I am being fair here.

I struggle to rate this hotel. It's a bit like the curates egg, good in parts. The public rooms around the bar and reception area are good, but the bar is dramatically overpriced. I don't mind paying hotel prices for a decent beer but here the price was exceptionally high (even compared to London) and the quality disappointing, it was that poor our friend travelling with us left his. The wine was equally overpriced for the quality. Talking to other guests, the general view was that the barcwas very much overpriced.Evening dinner was disappointing. The food was edible, but there was nothing to write home about. Breakfast was the usual buffet style with nothing particular to recommend itOur room was good, comfortable, and clean with a great view over the bay. Our friends less so, with some ventilation noiseLocation is the one thing this hotel has that is hard to beat and is its redeeming feature. It is situated right next to the sea and a small harbour. Lovely little walk, and there is a small seating area between the hotel and the sea. BrilliantWould I stay here again? Unlikely unless there are some very positive reviews

The staff were lovely. The hotel itself was tired and old so a bit grotty. However the shower and the location made up for it. Very expensive for what we got but that's being on Skye I guess!|Lots of coach groups through the place so make sure you leave breakfast until about 8.30-9 as lovely and peaceful with great view

Hotel was very tired. Bathroom clean but toilet backing up all the time with sewage. Rooms small and basic. Food terrible. Very limited parking. Waking up to view of water and harbour area was only good thing about hotel. Would not recommend
