Hard to review this hotel. We got the private rooms. We stayed in 306. The location is awesome, close to everything. Staff nice and give you the info you need to know. My... Rough intestinal system wanted the private bathroom. It's too damn small. Can barely sit down on the toilet. Plus the design of the bathroom has frosted glass, which means you wake up your spouse if you have to pee. Overall, good stay for the price, and there aren't a ton of reasonably priced places in Edinburgh.

Loved my stay at CoDE Pod and would 100% stay there again. The staff were very friendly and helpful, its a perfect location - right in the middle of the royal mile. There's free bag storage for you to use pre/post check in/out. Nice cafe/dining area to hangout in. The washrooms had plenty of showers and were very clean, room were very clean too. The lockers in the room fit my suitcase and locked with your own code - so no need to bring a lock. The beds were comfy and the pods gave you lots of privacy, also with the curtain they stayed nice and dark so I slept great. The free walking tour was fantastic and I met many nice people. Just book this place already would ya! :)

How to begin - it was perfect. I've never stayed before so was a little nervous. The staff were so sweet and welcoming. I was able to store my luggage before check in which helped massively. When checking in, I got a bit emotional and the lovely lady who checked me in helped me calm down and reassured me that staff would be there if it was needed. The room is a pretty rare concept in the UK and was clean and comfy. The lockers perfectly fit my suitcase and also have extra room. The pod comes with a pillow and duvet, also well as a shelf with a usb charger port and hook for you bag. There are also coat hooks in the room. The bathroom was clean and well maintained, with multiple stalls so now queue for the loo. The location is on the royal mile and right nearby Edinburgh castle as well as many other attractions. Breakfast was also yummy so I would recommend the special deal. Overall amazing experience for my first trip and first time in Edinburgh, I will definitely return and couldn't recommend enough

The location would not be better, it can be noisy but with earplugs you can sleep. The place is very well organized, affordable breakfast and great coffee, access to a communal kitchen with free condiments to use if you want to cook. The rooms can be a bit small, but all good if people are not using the space to get ready since there is not enough walking space. The pods are ok, a bit small, I'm short and I found that there is not enough space to move and to fully stretch my legs, so for a tall person it would be an issue.. the best for me was the staff, they are all sooooooo nice, was my first time in a hostel and it feels comfortable regardless sharing space with so many people. The bathrooms are not as clean , that would be the major down for me, the sinks in the morning are not in good condition.
