While there was nothing "wrong" with this stay, we definitely felt a little bit cat-fished. The photos make this seem nicer than it is. …

The room itself is clean. There was a really strong smell of bleach when walking into our room. However, it is worn and dated. It could definitely use some tlc. Our room was on the top floor right next to the stairs and lift, so it was very noisy. You could hear when people walked past talking and pressing the button for the lift. The floor was extremely creaky, so you could definitely not get to the bathroom quietly. The staff seemed friendly enough, we ate in the restaurant all 3 nights we were there and the food was amazing and very reasonably priced it came quickly and piping hot. The menu isn't very big, so if you were staying for longer than a long weekend, you'd probably have to venture out for a little more choice. However, there is a good choice, and the bar is well stockedThe views are incredible with a 10-minute drive into town.I was deceived by the pictures of the hotel online so was a little disappointed when arriving but for the time we spent in the hotel it's somewhere warm and comfortable to sleep and have a good meal after a day of exploring.

We loved this hotel. The price was right (71P, room only in October). The gentleman at reception was absolutely charming, friendly and professional. The rooms were clean and roomy. Our server at dinner was polite, helpful and pleasant. Some reviews complained of “dated” appearance. We liked it-like visiting an older relative’s home. It was still tidy and welcoming and we would definitely stay again 😊👍

It's important to be honest, this was a budget hotel booking, by far the cheapest option available to us in Fort William. The hotel needs a little bit of TLC, it was a little bit shabby and the room was very basic.  …

A good stay before starting the three peaks challenge in a twin room. Not exactly good value for money but it's a good location with good views and basic yet clean rooms. The bed was plenty comfortable and the bathroom was clean with a good, hot shower. The service is Scottish, some might say borderline rude however everything was efficient and orderly so I can't really complain. I didn't eat here but did use the bar and lounge. A bit scruffy around the edges and could do with some new carpets but a good selection of drinks both bottled and on tap. Recommended if you can get a good price and need free car parking, ease of access to Ben Nevis and don't want to stay in the backpackers hostel in town.

Terrible hotel from start to finish.|Unfortunately booked 3 nights because nothing else was available + now I understand why.|A prison cell has more atmosphere than their rooms. …

RECOMMEND!! The rooms are very basic but they are about what you could expect from a 3-star hotel. There was a little bit of rust on the towel hanger and such, but it was clean and tidy. There was a bit of noice late at night but that seems to be a common occurrence since I saw other reviews saying the same thing. The staff is nice but service can be a bit slow sometimes. The view is amazing. The only downside is the road between the hotel and the water, but that (quite obviously) needs to be there. I was gonna rank this hotel 3/5, but I gave it a 4 since the food was really good. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza and it was very enjoyable.

We were very disappointed with the Caledonian hotel. It certainly is past it expiry date. The carpet is ripped and thread bare in places. The smell in the corridors was not welcoming. Our room was dirty. The bathroom had minimal toiletries. The scaffolding covered the whole front of the building. We didn’t eat breakfast as that was extra to an already inflated price.I suspect it is the coach tours that is keeping this hotel open.I do not recommend this hotel.

Advertised as a luxury hotel with outstanding views. We visited the room after checking in, no lift, holes in the stairs carpeting, scaffolding across the window, B&Q type furniture, and a strong smell of wet dog - totally unacceptable for …
