A really pleasant stay at the recently renovated Retreat Hotel.I stayed here for a long weekend with my partner to have a quiet getaway and was not disappointed. Very self sufficient property with seamless check in experience, I was a little surprised at some other reviews complaining about this. You're in the Highlands this is not the Four Seasons...Lovely new bar with nice selection of single malts and now serving lovely food too! The garden has been converted into a large outdoor area (beer garden) and had a lovely music event on when we were there which was a great surprise! Having checked out the village there is nothing else that comes close to this outdoor space, or bar quite frankly.Golf course short walk up the road too if you fancy!Staff very accommodating throughout booking as I wanted to ensure I had a room at the front of the beautiful property looking down into the village. Appreciate this won't always be available but if you don't ask you don't get!The guys are still making further improvements to the hotel in certain areas and I really look forward to seeing it again soon!

Having read some glowing reviews alongside some terrible reviews I was hopeful that my experience of this hotel would be positive. The very positive reviews are factually impossible to have been experienced and should be disregarded. …

Stayed here a while back with my wife. Andrew and Scott, were very nice and gave us a lot of details about the local area and where all the nice walks are and things to see.The hotel itself is very clean as were the rooms. Bed sheets and duvet smelled fresh and the room was nice and warm making climbing into bed a treat after a long walk in the Scottish cold. There is onsite parking and a bar, the restaurant wasn’t open when we visited but from what I hear it’s coming along well and we can’t wait to go back to stay and try out the food too.Big thanks to you guys for making our stay very memorable.

We both stayed at the hotel and were greeted by one of the owners, who was lovely and polite. The room was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable and had a nice bath. The view from the room was lovely, and the food was a homemade three course meal, which was reasonably priced

I've never before stayed in a hotel with a candle in my room, a nice touch I thought, as it is something I would provide to our guests at the retreat centre I used to run. I picked The Retreat Hotel because I wanted to avoid larger, anonymous places. However, check-in was fully online and I saw nobody until my departure in the morning, when I placed my key on the reception table and a friendly face peered out from the kitchen at the back and we exchanged a quick smile and a "hi and bye". To be perfectly honest, I picked this hotel because of the amazingly low price and I was pleased with the comfortable tv-free room.

Nice hotel, the bar was cosy, the restaurant a bit generic, the staff very friendly, the room was not very good, quite small, the mattress too narrow and the bed squeaked a lot. Not sure I would come back here, but that's more to do with Strathpeffer as a town than with the hotel, the glorious days of a once nice Spa town seem to be over. The pavilion down the road is nice, as is the golf club. Nevertheless, thanks to the staff it was a pleasant stay.
