A request to the operators of the Birkenwäldchen: please stop organizing celebrations! Due to a lack of alternatives, our grandma celebrated her birthday, which was Christmas, here (group of 22 people). Unfortunately, a lot went wrong and considering 85 Eur/pers. we perceive the performance as usury. What was agreed in this package was a festively decorated room, all drinks included, and food a la carte. 3 cakes baked by the "chef", sandwiches with coffee and cake, serviceAfter the event had already been accepted in the summer, shortly before Christmas it was a bit of a struggle as to whether the festival could even take place because the landlord didn't get back to us until late.Ultimately it took place, but in buffet form with slightly different food than requested. There is the following to complain about:- promised in the above price was a decoration. Unfortunately, apart from a very sparse Christmas decoration and 2 flowers, there was no nicely decorated room, luckily we brought some decoration with us- Staff paid little attention to the guests, champagne and all other drinks had to be asked for at the counter, so we didn't have any drinks with our meal. Then, after being asked, we finally had water on the table, unfortunately only the cheapest (1.5l bottles made from PET bottles), Cola, Fanta and Sprite, and beer was reluctantly served- the food was so moderately good, it was mostly frozen (schnitzel, fish, fries, croquettes); Bread unfortunately old; There were fruit skewers but unfortunately the raspberries were moldy; But the food was beautifully prepared and the homemade schnitzel and dips were good- Unfortunately, the fireplace no longer works properly and so the smoke pushes inside. The room was completely filled with smoke. The fire was only put out after being asked to do so. When eating, the doors had to be open to allow for a draft - bad for the guests, who were cold and then smelled of smoke. We had to quickly escape into the car with our infant.- There was supposed to be coffee and cake at 3:30 p.m. but we had to ask the landlord/staff three times for this too. There was supposed to be sandwiches as an alternative to coffee and cake, but that wasn't available either, but the coffee plates were dirty and stuck to each other. Instead of offering homemade cakes/tarts as agreed, there were 2x frozen cakes and something indefinable in a baking dish. It didn't look that appealing, but according to other guests it was okay. The watery coffee was an imposition. Simply not edible! The chai (received upon request) was good.In the meantime, strangers were also sitting at the front of the guest room (known to the landlord?) and playing with their cell phones.Luckily, the guests kept the atmosphere good, despite the many antics. After many years of celebrations in the birch grove, this was our last one there.
