Very clean and well-appointed bunkhouse. It is not a hotel, so it is more functional than luxurious if that is what you are looking for. The setting and views are absolutely outstanding with a beautiful vista of Loch Slappin and the Cuillin mountains. Ideal for visitors with a car, as it is out of the way for exploring the rest of the island. Ample parking available. Just 4 minutes walk up the road are the Torrin Pools, a gorgeous miniature taste of the Fairy Pools which lie an hours drive away on the other side of the mountains. The bunkhouse is a converted schoolhouse, and feels airy and comfortable with high ceilings and big windows. There is a great kitchen space with 2 oven/stoves, 2 kettles, and plenty of cookware. There is tea and coffee freely available. There are big long tables where you can eat, or explore the many maps, books, and games available throughout the room. Our room had two bunkbeds, 2 chairs, and a small Edinburgh press for shelves. You can press a button to give the room an hour of heating which works wonders, though the building itself was not cold. The windows were big and could be opened, and the curtains are good and thick. The mattresses are the standard plastic covered kind you get in most places, we found them comfortable enough. They were certainly welcome after full days of hiking and exploring! We found the space clean, and the other guests friendly and respectful. No dirty dishes left out and no noise past 11pm.There is a firepit you can use out the back of the bunkhouse which we didn't avail of - this time!Like many areas of Skye there is poor phone signal, so I recommend taking a screenshot of the door codes when you get them. Contactless check-in is a breeze! The wifi in the communal areas is good.Particular shout out to the manager Pam who we met both mornings of our stay. She was so lovely and friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with her very much. The bunkhouse is run by Highlife, a charity that helps fund the rangers etc which we were thrilled to hear, and really put the cherry on the cake for our stay

It is a private building run by a local charity to benefit nature and communities, it is not a bothy or free campsite. What a magic place. The hostel has a large kitchen with two big tables and a lot of chairs. There are 5 apartments, two rooms with showers and one dry room. We had in our apartment only beds without any wardrobe.

One entire star for the amazing location and setting. Rest of the facilities are quite decent. Room size is a little small - very cramped for 4 people.
