After a long walk to the summit of Ben Nevis, would else would you dream about beside of a warm and boiling shower? Well.. unfortunately for us the day before our arrival we were told that hot water was working only at low pressure… Spoiler: not really. The shower were freezing cold. I’m sure the problem will be fixed in the future but a bit more honesty would have been appreciated. They mentioned that the issue is caused by works on the water line till the end of May… which means that they were well aware of the issue... this could have been told us a bit sooner. Moreover, WiFi was off for quite a while on our second day.. somebody (again) forgot to mention us that the line and password had been changed. Besides if these two not so pleasant experiences, rooms very cleaned and cosy. Breakfast was provided at the entrance, very nice furniture and small garden outside.

The rooms are really nice and tidy. But there's no real breakfast apart from a bunch of small pastries, which for a B&B, is surprising. Fort William is pretty far on foot. Once you have been doing the WHW or other hikes around, you'd prefer staying in the old town. Also there's a big and trafficked road to cross to get there, which makes for an unpleasant experience.

Our small room was very basic and bare. An old, creaky bed, one chair, and a towel rack were the only furniture. The shared bathroom is very outdated. The whole place is only cleaned superficially. …

Our room had an amazing view of Ben Nevis and the railway tracks. We even saw the Jacobite pass right in front of our window! The room was really nice and neat. You do have to share 2 bathrooms with other guests. The only problem we encountered was that the sanitary equipment was not working 100%. Sometimes you had to flush the toilet multiple times before it would completely clear everything, and the shower took a few minutes to warm up.Other than that, really recommend!

Hotel was very nice, and the beds smelt really clean. Parking was easy and we slept really well. Shared bathrooms was not a problem but I guess this depends on what other guests are staying in the house. Would stay here again.

We had such a lovely stay at Braemar. It is not your “traditional” old fashioned B&B but this suited us perfectly because we wanted flexible, non over bearing accommodation. Which we got - our room was lovely and clean.  …
