We stayed in room 10 and, while the bed was comfortable and the room itself was spacious, the room door was heavy and took a long time to close every time it was opened and the bathroom sink was ridiculously small. The location was amazing, though, and I didn't have any issues with finding a parking spot.

We were in room 4, a double room. It was fine/functional but didn't feel like great value for money. Parking wasn't an issue for us. Check in/out was OK. I found them responsive via messenger within the booking app. As I say, a good stay but for what we paid, I'd expect a bit more.

Excellent location. A couple minutes walk from the main street, restaurants, and the grocery store. We stayed in Room 1 which had a double bed and a bunk bed with 2 twins. Basic necessities, but was missing a blowdryer. If you're sensitive to sound, you might want to bring earplugs just because the room is 1st floor right on the road and you can hear the traffic pick up in the morning and the front doors anytime someone comes in or goes out. Wasn't a problem for me though.

We are a group of 3 couples who reserved our rooms months in advance and each couple had very different rooms. My review is based on our room #8 which is located on the top floor and faces the water. This room is not suitable and should not be available for rent unless the owners do a better of describing its shortcomings in their listing. The room is so small it offers no space to access a suitcase or sit down other than on the very small bed. There is so little room the entry door can not be opening even half way before impacting the bed. The bathroom is a complete joke with a tiny "sink" built into the top of the toilet tank. Good luck straddling the toilet tank to use the sink! The shower is so small you can not move without impacting the walls or door and the door will not stay closed. The other two couple had rooms on the lower floors and those were much more acceptable in size.

We really enjoyed our stay! We had a family of 4 so booked the family room with bunk beds which is room 1. Check in was super easy and great communication by staff throughout stay even for not being on location. Easy 2-3 minute walk to many restaurants. Parking is super easy across the street from the front door.

No sink in ensuite, not counting the finger bowl on top of the toilet cistern.||Double bed almost the size of the single attic room. Bedroom door does not open.||Ripped off. The place was shabby, no-one present. Lucky dip parking.  …

Picture perfect location. The view is amazing and the location is an easy walk into town. Parking across the road caused us no problems and was free. |The room itself is small but is clean, warm and comfortable. I would stay here again if I ever came back to Portree.

I do not take a review with negatives lightly! But I do feel as though I need to speak out about our experience here and offer insight for others. We booked the family room and were shocked to realize it is on the first floor and its windows open directly to the street. The noise was atrocious, both outside and with other guests stomping through the front door at all hours. We were told that opening the windows was the only sure way to cool the room at night, but how could we safely just leave large windows (which opened straight up, not at an angle) open at night? Our things could have been stolen, someone could have simply hoped in. Scary! Also, to note, only one of the windows even functioned. The room is tiny for a family room and the appointments were clean but much more in line with a hostel or budget style room. We paid Skye prices and thought, based on photos and such, we were entering a more guesthouse type feel, slightly elevated. The walls had marks, the ceiling was bulging. The room smelled like mildew and the one dehumidifier did nothing to help that. We left a day early and knew we'd have no hope of getting a refund given the pay before you stay policy. Be warned, too, Portree in the summer is overrun and crowded and traffic heavy, with no infrastructure to support this. Again, I do not take all this lightly. I hardly ever review in this way. But we felt as though we'd been quite misled. Also, the check in process includes simply grabbing an envelope in an unlocked vestibule....so who knows how many people on Skye have access to these keys day to day. Totally unstaffed on site. We ran out of toilet paper and had to go down to the co-op at 7am to buy more ourselves.

Location is great, rooms was a great size but the noise was awful. We stayed three nights in room 1 (ground floor) which was super noisy it was impossible to get any good sleep. And for the price we paid it was a disappointment. You can hear everyone coming in through a very loud front door and loud stairs! Otherwise easy checkin experience.
