We visited Heritage and can only say positive things about the restaurant. Matt and his team delivered a faultless service and the food was incredible.I highly recommend supporting this amazing restaurant and experience the tasting menu. Paired with the wine flight resulted in a fantastic meal.We are due to return for the lunch menu which looks very fair value for the quality and passion that goes into each plate.

This is a review for the restaurant.Went for an anniversary lunch and whilst we expected a gastropub vibe, there wasn’t much of a vibe at all on the day we had lunch. Not very busy and just missing something. We were invited by email to attend early to enjoy the garden and I must say I’m glad it was raining and we didn’t get the chance as the garden isn’t that nice a space to enjoy any drinks. Needs a lot of work.Service throughout was good and attentive and respectful.Food however is where this let the restaurant down. Very hit and miss on the courses. We’ve had better pub food in many other gastro pubs - flavour lacking in some dishes, or just plain ordinary. Pork belly didn’t even have a crispy skin, soggy and flat and very porky. Portion sizes are tiny. The best courses were the add on items - crab tart (minus the casing which over powered the crab) and the monkfish was heavenly. Dessert was excellent too but everything else was just too ordinary and underwhelming. We would not revisit or recommend unfortunately. Shame, we were really looking forward to it but there are just too many other better restaurants for less money.

We visited today for my husbands birthday as a special treat! We opted for the £40 pp 3 course lunch menu plus 1 flight of wine, added a cheese board to share, had an extra 3 glasses of wine and water which came to £203 (12.5% service charge included). We had an amazing meal which took approximately 3 hours. We took our time and weren't in a rush.Upon arrival, the sign looks filthy and run down. There is parking for maybe 8 cars only and street parking. This place is nestled in a village, and parking must drive the local houses nuts. Anyway we found parking. We booked about a month in advance and paid £20 to hold the table. We had a warm welcome when we stepped inside and our coats were taken. We were offered some water, which slightly annoyed me as we were charged £5 for this on the bill at the end!Anyway.... the service was excellent! Friendly, professional, and non intensive. Our courses came swiftly out. We were very impressed. The owner himself introduced the courses which I loved! On the table was a card wishing my husband a happy birthday along with all the staff wishing him this also. Nice touch. I half expected him to be offered a glass of champagne on the house like most other restaurants?!The food was delicious and beautifully presented! My husband loved the goat and my favourite was the onion ice cream! We had the most amazing meal and this was a real treat.Highly recommended visiting this restaurant!

Great gastropub. Lovely entertaining staff. The tasting menu offers inventive dishes, beautifully presented. We went for the non-alcoholic drinks pairing: a great choice. Fresh, inventive and very well matching the dishes. It’s a restaurant suited for foodies for sure. Worth a detour. The rooms are comfortable. With fresh cookies as welcome. The breakfast is of high quality, an awesome start to the day!

The excellent staff are very friendly and attentive throughout. We had the dinner menu veggie and standard. Having eaten at many Michelin starred and Michelin aspiring restaurants the food was of an average standard compared to others of a similar price and aspirations in the market place, I expected more individual taste in each dish, although some had so much vinegar it overwhelmed everything else on the plate, also potions could of been slightly bigger. For the price, other restaurants nearby offer so much more of a special dining experience for the same price.(sat tasting menu dinner £105per head. Plus additional charge for feature dishes)

I hired the restaurant for my 60th birthday. I had been a few times with other friends just 2 or 3 of us.Having to serve up to 26 people at the same time I thought it wouldn’t be the same. I was wrong, it was even better. The staff were incredible, really couldn’t do enough for us. The food was outstanding and the vegetarian options as good. The wines amazing on the wine flight too.A sunny day to see the beautiful surroundings. It really was perfect. Everyone was happy. Thank you Matt and your team. Excellent!

I’ve been to Heritage on more than a few occasions and I can tell you, Matt’s enterprise is right up there with some of the finest culinary places you could find in London, or close by.The food is always spectacular. The wine and knowledge of Wine is next level and the ambience and attentiveness of the staff is seven star territory. We had the tasting menu and wine flight with a few swaps and 3 1/2 hours went in a blissful yet memorable blink of an eye.See you again in January!

We had a wonderful dinner at Heritage. Each course of the tasting menu was delicious and plentiful, as were the snacks and bread courses served alongside. We ordered an additional course of slow-cooked short-rib of beef, and the restaurant manager happily swapped out a dessert course for a generously-sized cheeseboard to meet my wife's dietary requirements. We opted to select our own wines to go with each course, as the wine flight was a bit too focused on whites and our preference is for red. It might be good to introduce carafes of some of the wines so there's the opportunity to sample more without purchasing a whole bottle.Service was spot on: friendly and perfectly paced over the 3+ hours from when we arrived in the bar. Will definitely return, although the pricing means it's probably a special-occasion destination for us.

Superb friendly staff. Excellent tasting menu.Full marks for catering to those who don't drink alcohol. The drinks for each course were well thought out and delightfully explained. Not all were to my taste but that is what trying new things is all about.A great evening

My husband brought me here for dinner for my birthday. It was such a treat! Everything was lovely - the decor, food, drink, service. Thank you to the fantastic chefs who I'm sure must work very long and unsocial hours and the fantastic waiting staff for making our experience so special.
