Decor a bit tacky and carpets need changing. No iron in the room so had to wait until staff were on the desk to ask for one. Reception not manned all the time. Staff perfectly pleasant though. Prefer the Waves hotel which I have stayed in before. Good view of the seafront.

Very run down. The carpets in all the hallways are gross! I love Butlins but sadly I did not like Shoreline hotel. The food was also terrible. Will be upgrading to wave hotel next year. I did complain and they said I should have mentioned the food at the time so just a word of warning, if you have any issues dispute them straight away, do not delay!

We stayed at the Shoreline Hotel and while its location is fantastic—close to the splash pool, water park, car park, and Skyline Pavilion—the overall experience left much to be desired. We opted for hotel dining, which was a mixed bag. The buffet selection was extremely limited compared to other all-inclusive resorts outside the UK, especially considering the price. However, kudos to the chef for delivering delicious meals. The food quality was high, so the limited variety wasn't as big of an issue. The coffee was also very good. The buffet is not self-serve, which helps reduce wastage and overeating but results in longer queues and a bit of chaos, especially if you’re unsure of what you want by the time you reach the end of the line. The waiting staff were extremely pleasant and patient. However, hygiene could be improved; for example, cleaning sprays should be applied to cloths rather than directly on tables near diners, to avoid unhealthy spray residue. Our family room had a nice size and was comfortable, with thoughtful touches like a stepping stool for younger kids. However, the room service was poor. After bringing sand into the room on our first day, the cleaning staff failed to properly vacuum it up, making us question the overall cleanliness. The most frustrating issue was the lack of WiFi. Despite the hotel advertising essential WiFi, we had no connection at all. We spent a lot of time with support staff, who seemed to be merely entertaining our requests without any real intention of solving the issue. Even the in-room WiFi router was non-functional. I had to spend an extra £12.50 to add GB to my data usage just to book shows and do some research, which was impossible without WiFi. This was especially frustrating as the only time I could use my phone was when the kids were in bed.Overall, the hotel's great location and pleasant staff were overshadowed by poor room service, limited dining options, and the extremely frustrating WiFi issue.(Review on Butlin‘s resort facilities separately provided)

Edit: This year was noticeably lower standard in cleanliness to previous years - and we've been coming every year for the last 4 years now. The room was dirty, the carpets were very messy, the day the cleaners came in they'd thrown the toothbrushes in the bathroom on the floor to clean the sink and whilst there was a really friendly man that worked in the restaurant everyday on our check out day there was an incredibly rude woman (Wendy) that shouted at me across the restaurant for using the water machine wrong (she made my 7 year old cry because "there's a lady shouting at mummy"). Whilst Butlins itself was still fun and the kids had a lovely time we will not be booking the shoreline hotel again after this experience. I understand the need to keep guests informed of how to use equipment but there is never a need for rudeness or shouting, especially in front of young children ruining the last morning of our holiday. Review from previous visit below. The kids loved the room and their beds (4 and 2yrs old). The adult beds were surprisingly comfortable too! The staff in the restaurant were brilliant.

The hotel is a mixed bag. The main areas are tired and are in desperate need of maintenance. Being on floor 3, we found ourselves without any working lifts by the end of our stay. Not ideal when you have a baby in a pushchair. The room was great though and the kids absolutely loved the activity wall and sleeping area.

Having previously stayed in the lodges at Butlins, I much prefer this hotel. The rooms are clean and kept in much better working condition than the lodges. The location is SO much better for walking the kids out to the main attractions and it also negates the need for 'trolley runs' to and from the car park upon arrival and departure. The staff I encountered were all friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this place.
