We were on our way home from the Witterings after buying a caravan. We popped in three of us and our little granddaughter. The landlord welcomed us and I asked if food was on. He said yes but as busy would be about 45mins. He then went above and beyond by phoning a sister pub just down the road checking availability and booking us a table. Top chap and very welcoming. We then had a great meal just down the road.

It was my first time visiting this pub in about 35 years! Just purchased a new home in walking distance, so this is my new local. The owners and staff were very welcoming, as were the other local customers. I enjoyed a lovely pint of Fullers ESB while taking in the old-world charm of the building. I ventured out back to the rear courtyard, the beer garden, which has plenty of seating. While I sat there enjoying my pint in the sun, I watched a Spitfire fly overhead, perfect entertainment. The menu looked great, and I have booked a table for later in the week. I'm pleased I went in and had a drink.

Had Sunday lunch there today and all 4 of us enjoyed our meals. The roast was piping hot and there was plenty of choice from the menu. Staff were very friendly and pleasant and we will definitely return when next in the area. Thank you.

Plenty of car parking space. Very friendly and helpful staff. Some parts of the dining areas are a little dark for my liking. Tables in bar area are much better in my opinion. Food and drinks were well presented and of good quality. Very good gluten free fish and chips. Pub appears to be run by same people as in The Travellers Joy at Southbourne and Coach and Horses in Hunston.

Have a lovely evening here with friends. Super friendly staff and excellent service. Food was very nice though I felt the steak and kidney pie pastry was a little dry and the mash potato was undewhelming. The pudding, though, was perfect.

My sister, two friends and I went for lunch last week. The pub is lovely, the staff helpful and friendly and the food was just great. Two had the crab salad and the other two had the fish pie, both were delicious. We would heartily recommend this pub.
