Brilliant couple of days. Lovely room but best of all was the food which was delicious and plentiful. Staff were so lovely which made it difficult to leave at the end of our stay! We will definitely return in the very near future. Parking was easy in the hotels own car park.

I cannot rate the rooms as I did not stay overnight, but wow. What a pub!! The food was incredible, portion very good size for the price which is rate these days. The service was fantastic- friendly and welcoming. And the pub itself is beautiful. Low ceilings so do watch out - however, there is plenty of warning. Parking can be a little challenging but all nearby parking is free so not too bad. And the view from the garden - absolutely beautiful and good for the soul. Highly recommend.

A lovely pub, big open fires. Great food, good portion sizes. The staff catered really well for my daughter who is coeliac. She had a gluten free burger and chips. She scoffed to lot! Will definitely be returning.

Really welcoming place with the friendliest team working there - made us feel very welcome. Room was nice and we had a good meal (Sunday menu) with lovely vegetables and oodles of gravy in the evening and a nice breakfast in the morning. Would like to return when weather good and we can enjoy the garden.

Didn't stay in the hotel part, however the restaurant itself was incredible. Stunning view from the garden area, great vibes from locals and tourists in the area, and staff were like a family, they had great attitude and full of banter. The food was just something else and was amazing. Will definitely be coming here again and telling family and friends of this place. The waitress Charlie, is a great asset to the pub and team. Keep it going!

Cosy dinner by an open fire - home-made ice cream was a highlight. Friendly & attentive staff. Comfortable, quiet room with good en suite. Excellent breakfast - the most perfectly poached egg I've had in a long time! Overall, would definitely recommend for a night away.

This is my second visit and was again good. The food and beer are the draw cards for me.Starters, mains and desserts were good.As for location - pretty much unbeatable for me for a pub. Heart of the country and lovely beer garden.I'd like to book it for the winter to sit inside with a large real fire.It would be better if there was table service outside for drinks and such like .

We arrived early evening without a reservation. Surely not busy on a Wednesday?|The FGF most certainly is!|Christain shoehorned us in for a lovely early dinner which explained its popularity.|Goodfood. Sensible prices and friendly staff. Such a shameits 80 miles from home.

Doesn't match the hype surrounding it. Beautiful pub in a lovely village. Food was decidedly average. The burger was dry and the fish pie had a couple of prawns which were hard and chewy, the fish was overcooked where it was reheated and some of the veg which had obviously been microwaved wasn't cooked properly. Heard a local comment on the portion size of the fish pie which was smaller Thea than it used to be she said. Disappointing
