Stayed at the Dunoon Hotel for 3 nights along with parents who are both in their 80's. We booked through an offer with Secret Escapes and the deal included a 3 course meal each night.  …

We've just spent a long weekend at this hotel and we will definitely be back. The customer service from Reception, Bar, Restaurant was a very high quality and nothing was too much trouble from the moment we arrived. …

Yesteryear charm but service & maintenance is wanting. Stayed here for almost a week late Sept last month. Good location between North & West shore. Dine in breakfast & dinner was good overall & these are the plus points.Comfort factor: bed & pillows ok, heating pretty good, shower & toilet area clean. However so called "single superior" room has no room to swing a cat!Staff are friendly though check in reception staff was very unwell - coughing badly while handing keys over & continued like this for a few days. Not a great welcome & no guest wants to pick up a nasty lurgy with the room keys...Room got vacuumed once during the almost week stay, towels had to be requested to be changed, knob fell off the small closet & hair dryer had to be requested. Service staff barged into the room when sign was not out there that room had to be cleaned. Stained teapot & exposed teapot teabags.Overall ok but definitely Not a 4 star hotel in service or maintenance.

Enjoyed a very nice evening meal as guests of a couple staying at the Hotel. The hotel is very traditional in furnishings and character.Staff are respectful and helpful, and there is a very relaxed feel to the place, despite the up market appearance.Service was quick, and the food was well presented and very acceptable. As somebody who feels at home surround by antiques, I was in my element. In all, it was a very pleasant experience, and we will be sure to return someday.
