We originally booked to stay at one of the dog friendly lodges but sadly our dog had to be put down. The stay was for our anniversary so we went with the intention of still staying at the lodge. …

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights. Throughout the whole time we experienced excellent service (at breakfasts and one evening meal). The staff very friendly and helpful.  …

Me and my husband booked the Gower summer getaway package, and we also took our dog. We stayed for 2 nights, B&B, and dinner both nights. The hotel was clean and well presented, the staff couldn’t be more helpful if they tried. …

A wonderful experience. The 2 and 3 course menu is varied and utterly delicious. I had my birthday booked somewhere else but changed it to here after eating the night before. Linda (the owner) is an absolute delight. …

We liked everything about our stay and our meals (breakfast and dinner) at the hotel. By the way, the building still reads “Gower” without the “new.” And don’t use your sat nav if it tells you to drive down Kilmer road. …

The Gower Hotel isn't the easiest place to find. My SatNav took me down an extremely narrow and poorly maintained road before going through a ford and then I arrived at the Hotel. …

We booked a Sunday night here on our way to Pembrokeshire. The price of the room, dinner and breakfast at £185 was reasonable.||Dinner started well although the prawns in the starter were low quality. …

Second time visiting Monroe's as out of the area, first time we came, we sat outside and it was lovely, the food was great.Came this time with my mother in law who struggles to find food she likes, her eyes lit up at the menu. We all had mains and it was incredible, such good quality and quantity. You'd expect the same food from a Michelin Star restaurant. Very reasonably priced for the food too.

Had a lovely evening and the bar staff really made us feel welcome and the room was also lovely only to be spoiled the next morning. We ordered breakfast in bed and when it came the beans were stuck together in a little bowel they had over cooked them. The bacon wasn't cooked properly and the bread was like rubber. Really bad quality food and very poorly cooked. When we complained the women at the desk said well we haven't had any complaints before and I've spoken to the chef and we won't charge you but just so you know we could still charge you if we wanted. Disgusting response after giving us food that was literally not edible and then instead of apologies they responded like this. Very disappointing considering we had such a nice evening. Unfortunately we won't be going back.

Booked for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. Food was excellent and portions were generous. However, the ambience was sadly lacking and very much spoilt by the wait staff preparing all the tables around us for the following days' service. It made us feel like an inconvenience and not valued as paying customers at this restaurant. Would not recommend.
