Wonderful central location directly opposite main railway station. Beautifully restored art deco building. Excellent breakfasts. Nice staff. Rooms comfortable, not lavish. Lift was out of service but that was OK. Car parking is in public station car park next door.

Cam for an event on Tuesday. The furnishings were beautiful, and the whole place smelled stunning. The wine was great£8 for a large, so it was not the cheapest, but it was worth it, as the Pinot Grigio was beautiful. …

We stayed at the Grand Hotel for our wedding, along with the wedding party and several other guests, and only have wonderful things to say. Everyone who worked there was incredibly friendly and helpful, the hotel was bright and clean and the suites were amazing! We were lucky enough to stay in the suite with a hot tub and it was perfect for the night before our wedding. The food was delicious, with a lovely breakfast that was brought up to the room. The location is also great with easy access to parking and being right opposite the train station. The hotel wasn't tricky to reach from the M4.A special thank you to the team who cleaned our room - when getting ready the groomsmen made quite the mess and having seen this before I left, I was quite concerned about staying in the room that night! The cleaning team went above and beyond and had the room spotless, which was really appreciated. We will definitely be back and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Had the best Sunday Dinner we can have ever wished for. My self, my husband and our 3 children, went for Sunday dinner today and OMG I can’t tell you how amazing it was. My boys can really eat but even they struggled. …

Visited for a drink and something to eat. Service is brilliant - everyone very kind and helpful. The menu is excellent and our meal was beautiful. Wide variety and something for everyone. Vegetarian options and were excellent when it came to ensuring accommodation of a difficult allergy. We were very impressed with our meals and will certainly be returning. Also a lovely place to just meet friends, go for a coffee whilst waiting for your train or sit and get some work done.

Stayed here overnight. The exterior looks lovely and you can tell that it's maintained. The bar and restaurant also look modern and clean. The bedrooms are tidy, but in the rooms was some dirty cups and glasses. Curtains are nice and dark but the glass is thin and was woken up by building work before 7am. Breakfast was amazing, catered for everyone and cooked well.

This review is based on the food only. I've not stayed at this hotel, although it looks decent and is well positioned near the train station. My review is of the Sunday roast sharer plater. I've had it 3 times, all times were good although one time it was covered in some seasoning that just completely overpowered everything on the plate.Worth a visit. Gets busy so best to book.

Absolutely amazing Sunday dinner as usual! So impressed with the staff, from the waitress, to the bar staff who made our drinks, to the receptionist who helped us when we arrived. Highly recommend! Lived the family styled Sunday dinner, was a lovely change to what you would usually get somewhere else.
