I had the pleasure of staying at Brownhill House for 5 nights in October 2024. The location is rural and picturesque, with a large, interesting garden to explore down the slope to the river, which is part of the National Garden Scheme. …

My wife and I stayed at Brownhill House whilst visiting a number of English Heritage sites in the area. The owners were lovely, very friendly and prepared a very good breakfast which set us up for our days. The room we stayed in was nice, comfortable and having an en suite. There wasnt a lot to do in the village although the local pub did really nice food and the new manager was also very friendly.

I had such a lovely stay in the single room at Brownhill. Needed a room for the night while visiting a friend. The room was warm and welcoming and such a good size. The en suite bathroom was incredible with a nice view and a lovely big bath. The bed was comfy with the option of an extra blanket, and the breakfast (included) was great. Friendly hosts. I will be back!

I stayed at this excellent b&b a couple of weeks ago with friends for 3 nights and everything was faultless. My single room was spacious and I had my own spotless bathroom Yolande and Roger are great fun, quirky and interesting. Fantastic breakfast choices (we never needed lunch!) with pancakes to die for. Yolande sent us off with muffins every day. The garden is quite wonderful and has to be seen to be believed. Will be back a.s.a.p. Maureen Edwards, Kent

Pleasant stay. I enjoyed looking around the garden. The breakfast was good and the homemade muffins were a bonus. I had the single room which was dated but comfortable. HOWEVER if you are a light sleeper be aware it is right on the road and I was woken up very early (6.30) each morning by lorries going past.
