Excellent place for uni field trips. Lots of different marine and coastal habitats in walking distance of the fort. We have been coming for a number of years now and the team on site are excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable.

My favourite annual field trip is to Dale Fort with the University of Gloucestershire. Tom and the DF team are welcoming, always on hand if we need any advice or equipment and the food is delicious, plentiful and punctual (very important with hungry students!). The bedrooms and bathrooms are always spotless and the labs are perfectly arranged to enable us to carry out research easily. The location is excellent for teaching any form of marine sciences with various beaches within easy walking distance.

I went there for a wild trip with my school. the rooms were terrible, the duvet covers and bedsheets smelled noticeable like old sweat and we only had warm water for half an hour a day. But the worst thing was the food, even the food in my boarding school is better. lets put it like this, I was extremely happy and relieved when we left and the four days we stayed felt more like 4 weeks and I would recommend for everybody who plans to go there to bring plenty of food.

It was terrible! The rooms were way too small and very dirty. There was a spider nest in my room and a lot of other creatures. The food was so bad that i didnt even eat anything there. The water tasted like pool water and im not even gonna say anything about the food..Our tour guides screamed at us all the time and i felt like im in kindergarden. The only nice person was James. James is a legend! If you want to stay in the area please do not choose to stay at Dale Fort. I couldnt enjoy the nice view and the nice location around there because of the Fort.

A remarkable Palmerston Fort, which now operates as a field study centre. However there are times when you can book in and stay in it. It offers hostel like rooms and even has some ensuite rooms. It is excellent value and has staff who really make you feel welcome.

A fantastic location for marine biology studies. We can access key sites easily. The centre is comfortable with friendly helpful staff. The new lunch station was great and vegan and special diets were well catered for. My shower in C block was a little cool though in the mornings.

Quirky location on the headland with stunning sea views AND only a 15 minute walk into Dale where we appreciated 3 great restaurants. We really loved our stay!Very clean, basic accommodation with everything we needed including warm showers, kettle in room, stunning view, great bar, shared kitchen and parking (take care through narrow gateway though!) We appreciated the friendly staff and also mixing with other residents in the evenings. Slept really well - it was restful and the sea air certainly helped! It was a superb base for the Coastal Path as well as exploring Pembrokeshire.
