Small room but clean with very comfortable beds. Ensuite was tiny, just about managed to squeeze into the shower.Decor was old and dated. Furniture was scuffed and walls were cracked.Buffet breakfast was below average, cheap products, luke warm and very greasy.Room was upstairs, dining room was down in the basement. There was no working lift which for most people wouldn't be a problem but I have slight mobility issues so was not easy for me.To end on a positive, the staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful.

First time stopping here. We would definitely stop here again. The staff are amazing, friendly, warm and welcoming. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Rooms cleaned every day, the beds are so comfty that had trouble getting my teenage daughter and myself out of them the coffee/tea facilities topped up daily.Buffet style breakfast anything from fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals (gluten-free also available), toast with selection of jam and marmalade to the good old favourite cooked breakfast. Hot drinks include the usual tea, americano, mocha, hot chocolate or a selection of fruit juice. The bar is open from 5pm-11pm and serve a selection of spirits/wines/beers/ciders, soft drinks and a selection of hot drinks for those who don't drink.A drop a book take a book cupboard near reception so if you do get the chance to sit and read you have this option too.

The room we were staying in had had a leak from upstairs. Myself and my toddler child were checked in to this room which had a bad smell the first night we arrived but we didn’t say anything as we were too tired. …

The hotel generally looks tired. I had a single room which was not spacious and the bathroom was very cramped. The walls appeared to be quite thin as I was kept awake by the snoring in the adjacent room. The breakfast was buffet style and of a reasonable standard. I imagine it would be quite difficult if the hotel had high occupancy.

Not recommended for special occasions celebration! We were planning to celebrate our wedding anniversary here. Firstly they have asked for a quotation which I didn't have at that time as I was unsure what would be the appropriate cost for a minimum room decoration and cake. Later I shared a quotation but they said we will bring our own items and decorate the room by ourselves. I cancelled my reservation after this and able to book a better place to celebrate our day! It's not always staying in a hotel but want to celebrate a special occasion. A minimum effort from the hotel will value the customer.
