On arrival the restaurant and reception had been refurbished to a pleasant, good standard. The bed covers were brilliant white. The staff lovely and the food good. …

Downstairs is very good. Food was good. No complaints there. |Then go to the room. Supposedly just been renovated, but damp on the ceiling and the bathroom door didn’t close. It was like the door had swelled with the damp. …

Let’s cut to the chase, if you’re looking for somewhere with all the latest decor to look ‘luxury’ and impress people you don’t like on Instagram, it might not be for you. …

The hotel is in a beautiful location. The hotel, however, is in a state of disrepair. The rooms are clean. Bar prices are mixed, beer prices are reasonable, but then £4.50 for a bottle of water. Breakfast at £12 was a little high, as the food was just OK!! Yet the wedding meal was excellent !! All the staff were polite and friendly.

Shocking! Room horrible. Water damage on the ceiling. Bathroom and room need to be ripped out and redone. Bed old and lumpy. Two dirty pillows stuffed into one pillowcase. Duvet stained and yellow. Asked for it to be changed. Then asked for a different room. Slightly better. No food served on a Sunday after 6. If I had known that I would have eaten on the way.Staff were very nice and helpful. Bar area very pleasant.Never again!

I've just checked in:- the building is very nice- it smells nice everywhere- the room feels clean- yes, as per other reviews, there are some signs of wear and tear on the ceilings etc but they are insignificant and overall the room feels great- it is super peaceful and quiet- the staff are absolutely lovelyOverall I'd come here again definitely. I have stayed in many hotels in my lifetime and this place is a delight

This hotel needs a complete refurbishment. It’s old, dirty and extremely tired, except for the bar area for some unknown reason! But, Food and drink overpriced. …
