The day I arrived, it was a typical windy and rainy day, and I had discovered I had a fever. When I got to my room, it had a space heater, and complimentary tea; both of which I used to their extent. It did take me a second to realize that, as an international traveler, I had to put in the UK's cell code. The room was nice and cozy, the shower was warm, and the location meant that I could catch my train just in time. Next time I'm in Porthmadog, I'll happily stay here again.

Ideal location at the top (and quiet) end of Porthmadog's main street, with parking. Easy walks down to the pubs, restaurants, beaches and, of course, the historic railway. …

Nice clean room with a comfortable bed, everything you need for a short break. Plenty of tea coffee etc and the room was surprisingly quiet give that it is on a main road next to the railway station. Host very friendly and helpful. …

The building is located near the train station and has 2 floors, without an elevator. We stayed on the 2nd floor. The room was big enough, but the bathroom was very small, and the water only flowed after you pulled a string. The light in the bathroom always turned on after you pulled a string. When I went, it was very cold outside, but the owner turned on the heat late at night and in the morning. I didn't have breakfast.

Sorry, but would not stay here again, booked a 2 night stay and came home after 1 night. Saw the host once to give us the keys. Room was shoddy to say the least, there was what looked like a used side plate in one of the drawers, that looked like there was remnants of a chocolate cake on it and the bathroom had holes in the wall above sink, where some sort of rack was once there. There was also a very loose floorboard by the side of the bed, a wall papered ceiling that was not very well done. In my opinion, this room should not have been let out until all problems fixed. I don't expect plushness at £75 per night, but I do expect tidy ness.

Clean, tidy, quiet. Just next to the train station and tesco, a perfect base for local adventures. Pleasant respectfully staff. Currently going through renovations so no food or bar but has everything you need for a night's sleep.

Very nice owner, she's restoring this old building, starting with the rooms. So when you first walk in, don't be alarmed. It gets better as you go up the stairs. Our room was updated, new carpet and comfortable bed. We were very happy with the excellent service and deal$. The owner even helped us carry items upstairs.

Brilliant, especially for the price. Gave us a cosy base for our weekend. We'd messed up the booking, so our room with external private bathroom wasn't strictly a double but worked fine. Actually liked the arrangement, that end was quiet enough the external bathroom just made it feel a bigger space. Honest place. Will be great to see how it evolved in future.

Wonderful place to stay, railway links and buses. Car park is small, but the hotel is undergoing major works. Recommended by us,good size room and comfortable. Still some work to be done, hairdryer in room, 2 towels for shower etc but not a problem.
