Went in for a drink whilst we waited for the Eisteddfod to start. The staff seemed very friendly and sociable. The atmosphere seemed very community-orientated. The outdoor seating area offers a spectacular view of the beautiful river which runs through Llangollen. If you're into music, there are several TVs which play it and I'm sure they do the sports as well. The only downside was the toilets - one of the cubicles has had the door lock ripped off, the floors were wet and they smelled awful. Would definitely return whenever in Llan next but the toilets need a refurb.

Such a lovely quirky bar, it's like a museum inside. We nearly missed it though as it's on Google maps as a hotel and restaurant, this really needs changing to show that it's also a bar as this will put people off visiting which would be a shame, I definitely recommend a visit

Popped in here for a beer.......a quirky little place, both myself and husband needed the loo, he went first and told me, if I could, to hold it and go somewhere else ha ha, nice view of the river with kayaks going past. Friendly staff and a nice pint.......maybe don't go in if you've got high standards with toilets!! Would visit for a pint again.

Toilets and downstairs hallways need a total refurbish. No signs people don't know if they are in the male or female toilets. Hand dryer doesn't work and if you are large you would never get in a toilet the doors need rehanging outwards. Pubs OK though 🙂

Went in tonight for a drink with our little mongrel puppy who loves to be out and about After about an hour a couple came in with a bull dog, it was obvious that the people running the bar knew them, they sat opposite us by the door, the dog seemed OK however as we left it flew at our dog, luckily the male owner grabbed it however it was very aggressive and a real handful If your dog is that aggressive when totally unprovoked it should not be out in public and I hope it gets banned

If there was an option to give a zero star rating, it would be needed here. Please avoid this place and give your business to those who actually care about staying open.To put it bluntly, how this place stays open I do not know.It was filthy, the toilets hadn't been cleaned from the night before, there was a door kicked off its hinges in the lady's blocking the entrance in, floor was covered in urine. Given that it was only midday, it couldn't have gotten into that state on the day.Coffee machine off, Guinness off, coke machine off! Nothing seemed to work.Tables where filthy and needed a good wipe and three staff on shift just stood around. It's such a shame that this place is so scruffy. It wouldn't take much to make it into a really lovely venue as the views at the back over the river are lovely.

Bensons could be a lovely bar unfortunately the toilets are absolutely disgusting. The smell of urine pungent & floors swimming & that’s just the ladies. I appreciate it’s an old pub but so are lots of venues in Llan & they are clean. No need for it & Not good at all😷

Disgusting. Mens toilets awash with urine, no lock on cubicle door. Utility cupboard hanging open obstructing use of sink. Beer practically undrinkable, myself and both mates managed about a third of our pints before leaving. …
