Arrived on the 18th October for a stay for our wedding anniversary. On arrival was not greeted as no one was on reception. An Indian gent arrives and quickly ran through our booking and handed us a key. We were not shown to our room. …

The Royal Goat Hotel has been a familiar sight for visitors to Beddgelert and Snowdonia for many years. New owners are now working to restore the property's reputation after a period of decline. It's quite a task! …

Hi yes it was an enjoyable stay and very friendly staff.Hotel is a old hotel but it has character to it.The only input I would like to recommend is that breakfast is served earlier say from 7 am, the reason is that I am a hiker and walker and 8am is quite late breakfast.I would certainly be staying againKind regards

Lovely building, but not obvious that it has an independent restaurant that has recently re-opened under new management....A very warm welcome upon entry into the bar/ restaurant by the couple who are now running this area.....Unfortunately, front of house service was let down by Kitchen food presentation...The food was tasty, but presentation let it down...The soup starter was tasty, but lacked the final presentation you would expect, ie a swirl of cream or croutons/ herbs on top....My vegetarian nut roast dinner came out smothered in thick gravy, to the point where I couldn't differentiate between vegetables or protein....( present better on the plate & serve the gravy in a sauce boat, so the customer can put the amount they want on the meal!!)The vegetables were also over cooked, to the point of nearly mush...(cold refresh until service, to prevent over cooking on hold)The slow roast Welsh lamb shank, albeit very tasty, was served in a deep pasta bowl with the mash at the bottom, then swimming in a thin mint gravy. This made it difficult to eat, again presentation let it down....The sticky toffee pudding was presented well, with lovely local vanilla icecream....Another missed opportunity by not advertising " dogs welcome, and local produce served in the restaurant " at kerbside, as lots of traffic goes past here!!Please review your food presentation, and you're onto a winner!!We wish you all the best 👍

We received a warm welcome - even after 8pm on Saturday night - and our lamb shanks & mash were heavenly! (Other eateries in Beddgelert had been too busy to serve us). We returned after our walk on Sunday at 5.30pm to an equally warm welcome and they managed to find us two roast beef Sunday dinners!! Delicious!

Having read some rather downbeat reviews of the hotel I was apprehensive about my visit, I needn't have worried. I stayed for a week at the end of June & had a lovely time. The hotel was clean & the food was excellent. Manasa & her team extended a warm welcome to me & my dog, Archie. There are ongoing renovations by the new owners which can only improve the facilities. The hotel was built in 1802, before Queen Victoria was born & is full of character. I will definitely be returning.

Been there for a drink after a long walk. Very nice atmosphere and plenty of seatings inside as well as out. Not much on offer but still there's something we can try. We all ordered drinks and one of us ordered ginger beer non alcohol soft drink. There were two guys behind the bar but still they were acting like new at this place. Grab our drink and sit out for enjoy weather and view because this little village is so scenic. After a sip one of our friend start feeling bad because he has prob with alcohol. I rushed at bar and asked if they serve alcoholic ginger beer but they said no. So I request to show me the bottle and it was 5% volume. No sorry, nothing in return not even been offered for refund. We hardly finished our drinks and back our place because of our friend condition. Sorry but not my kinda place. Please everyone make sure if you're getting the right thing what you ordered before eat or drink.

We had to wait 45 minutes for food, which almost made us late for our return train. In the end we had to get it in a takeaway bag and they missed out food items. Not much communication and terrible service without any responsibility
